  1. Another key to the new oc is perhaps, just maybe, he will help the Ravens find and develop wide receivers, Monkton has shown that he can
  2. Yeah Richardson is so far raw, what is his completion percentage, barely above 50? A T Perry had a great first day of practice at the Bowl practice. Another big, fast wide out, over 2000 yards, 26 touchdowns the last two years at Wake. I'm not sold on Boute, he disappears in games, doesn't always catch with his hands, and drops a lot of easy throws.
  3. Yes, I did a happy dance that they at least talked with him and he showed some interest. My biggest fear is that as you & oldno said; this is just to cover the in-house hiring...
  4. Eh, some offensive coordinators may want their own choice at qb. Then again, the wide receivers may also give them pause. Even then, the right system could elevate those players. This team is ready to rock & roll, more so than any of the other team's in need, save the Chargers
  5. My heart skipped a beat, my dream for this team may come true.. NBC Sports: Todd Monken interviewed for Ravens offensive coordinator. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/28/todd-monken-interviewed-for-ravens-offensive-coordinator/
  6. Na, the writing is on the wall. This team is good qb play away from being in the game tomorrow, even a super bowl appearance. Bowser is a big piece of the pass rush packages. JK, a 1000 plus yard rusher with 10 total touchdowns capable. Both on the cheap. You get rid of those two and yes, it sends a message to the team but not the one you want. Both players are highly liked on the team, spoke the truth in the fit of a tough loss. So get rid of them and this team only good qb play away from a few years of true Super Bowl contender is lost
  7. No chance they cut nor trade either player, both are cheap labor right now. Maybe they won't get an extension in a year or two, but they both stick around. Now if either one was the culprit behind the fire Roman pamphlets, sure, but...
  8. I think they should use the internet for an oc, let fans supply the plays via text message, rates apply, .....
  9. The Ravens currently only have 5 picks in the upcoming draft. History tells us they are likely to trade down from the 20's spot in the first round to get more picks. Now, not knowing what is going to happen with Lamar, sign, need to hit on as many draft picks to add depth and starters, cheaply, to afford his salary. Or Trade, get multiple picks, at least 2 in this year's draft. Still, the Ravens are slated to have somewhere around $40 mil in cap space, more with cuts, less with Lamar and any free agents.. I've see a few mocks, hate them, used to love then, have the Ravens taking Bejob Robinson rb Texas with their first round pick. If you know me, you know 1) never take a runningback in the first round, even their five years under a rookie deal is too much to pay. 2)There is no way they need a runningback in the first round, even if they somehow cut Gus, slated to make around $4mil next year, they still have JK on a rookie deal and his relief, a power back, can be had later in the draft or as an undrafted. These same mocks have Quenton Jonston, wr TCU, a position not only in clearly need and one they openly said they would bolster, still on the board at the Ravens pick. He is arguably the best, highest ceiling wide out in the league. Size, speed, hands.. needs some help on route running, but hey... So if the Ravens stay with just 5 picks, they will have to make them count now more than ever. Sure, they need some help on this young, talented team, a corner to replace Peters, perhaps. A linebacker to replace Queen, maybe. A defensive tackle, o line help perhaps, but they do have some young talent at each of those positions that showed some promise the past two years. The biggest need is at wide out, even if they keep Duv (incentives reached based on special teams play), and if Bateman comes back healthy and turns out. We know the Ravens history at drafting and developing wide outs, but doesn't mean you stop trying, even a blind squirrel finds a nut... With that said, if they go runningback in the first, while it makes no difference to them, I will not watch them next year. It would tell me that Eric is over his head, out of his mind....
  10. Hackett, (Jets) Reich, (Panthers) off of the board...
  11. Okay Dee, you have 75 thousand fabricated coins. Oh did I forget to mention that the 25 was actually 25 thousand.... pay up peeps!
  12. That had to be a joke. No way would he come to the NFL, and no way the Ravens hire him with his track record
  13. Put your fabricated coins up, 25 figments for a guess, proceeds go to Dee's favorite chia pet. Does Lamar sign first Or Do the Ravens ink a new oc
  14. I can't see a lateral move for Eric, why leave Mahomes? Reich would just be a whistle stop till a head coaching job came around. Leftwich was he really any good? He did have arguably the best qb in NFL history and stil failed when left on his own. Martin and Urban not sure about them, straight from Roman... would things be any different?
  15. From Fowler, Jeremy on Da Twitter Among prominent coaching names I'm hearing are firmly on #Ravens' radar for offensive coordinator: Former Colts head coach Frank Reich, Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy and former Bucs OC Byron Leftwich. In-house candidates Tee Martin and James Urban could get a look, too
  16. So, with an excellent supporting cast, a forward thinking play caller, the great Josh Allen could not or barely put up numbers = to Huntley against the same team. Granted, there was snow, a slippery field, but, he is supposedly used to those conditions. The great Buffalo defense could not stop the Bengals, being shoved around, blown back, no coverage, terrible tackling. Tell me why again, the Ravens should use up all of their cap on a MLB, qb, and top receiver? Lamar at the Ravens price, Smith at an acceptable price given what he does for this defense as the proverbial defensive qb. Then some complimentary receivers, Gabe Davis style to match a healthy (?) Bateman, Duv, Andrews. Sure up the line, teach them proper pass protection.
  17. He was overly critical, rightfully so, that place it horrible from reports. Still, there was a better way of going about it...
  18. Good thing Lamar and the Ravens are not playing in Buffalo today with that snowy, slippery field. He always has trouble getting his cleats right, slipping and sliding all game...
  19. I wonder is Lamar is now waiting to see what Burrow gets this off season now that he is eligible for an extension
  20. Yep, been saying it all season. Sure, they have one top receiver, but it has been Hurts and working on his passing, the receivers having routes that work to get them open.
  21. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ravens-request-permission-to-interview-seahawks-qbs-coach-dave-canales-for-offensive-coordinator-per-report/ The Baltimore Ravens parted ways with offensive coordinator Greg Roman this week, and they are now in pursuit of a new lead man on offense. Per ESPN, the Ravens have requested permission to speak with Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach Dave Canales for their open offensive coordinator job. Canales has been with the Seahawks since 2010. He has worked as the wide receivers coach, quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for Seattle. Previously, Canales served as USC's offensive administrative assistant for one year, where he worked as an assistant strength coach and some with the quarterbacks, per his profile on the Seahawks' official website. The Seahawks, of course, were one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season, making the playoffs as the No. 7 seed even after parting ways with franchise quarterback Russell Wilson in the offseason. Canales' work with new quarterback Geno Smith was a big reason for Seattle's success in 2022, as the former backup signal-caller completed 69.8 percent of his passes for 4,282 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, earning a Pro Bowl bid for the first time in his career.
  22. So much for that... ESPN: Ed Reed won't coach Bethune-Cookman as negotiations fail. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/35496576/ed-reed-coach-bethune-cookman-negotiations-fail Ed Reed, a Super Bowl champion and nine-time Pro Bowl selection with the Baltimore Ravens, announced Saturday he will no longer be the head coach at Bethune-Cookman. Reed was tearful during a 15-minute goodbye in front of players and parents. "We've been around here trying to change things," Reed said. "My vision for change, probably moving too fast for a lot of people. I'm not withdrawing my name, as they said. They don't want me here. They do not want me here because I tell the truth." Reed also tweeted an announcement that detailed, "After weeks of negotiations I've been informed that the University won't be ratifying my contract and won't make good on the agreement we had in principle, which had provisions and resources best needed to support the student athletes. "I was committed to coaching and cultivating a relationship with the University, Players, Community and the Fans. It's extremely disappointing this won't be happening," Reed said.
  23. And another https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2023/01/ravens-request-interview-with-chad-oshea-browns-wr-coach-for-their-offensive-coordinator-vacancy.html CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Chad O’Shea could go from trying to beat the Ravens to trying to help them beat the Browns. O’Shea, the Browns wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator since 2020, has received a request from the Ravens to interview for their offensive coordinator vacancy, a league source told cleveland.com. He would replace Greg Roman, who parted ways with the team this week. The Browns and other NFL teams must grant permission for such promotions O’Shea, 50, interviewed Friday for the Jets coordinator vacancy, but the Ravens opening is likely more attractive because of the quarterback position. The Jets are in a state of flux at QB, whereas the Ravens are confident Lamar Jackson will be back despite the fact they haven’t yet signed him to the blockbuster extension
  24. That is what happens when you use him properly. McDonald used him in blitz packages, in run support, a lot in zone. In man coverage, however, he wad a liability. Essentially he was a linebacker
