  1. Their running game is scary, Wink knows how to play against Lamar.. The Ravens haven't been consistent stopping the run, and Lamar seems to hold the ball too long, when he should take off and run, clearly mindful of being a pocket passer. Some talking heads, because of the aforementioned, are picking the GMen... Not me. A long time ago the GMen were the media darlings, the Ravens struggling on offense... yadda yadda yadda.. As I told Marty Bass then, he was in an email thread with several of us, I say now: the Gmen don't know what is about to hit them... Ravens put together a complete game, offense, defense, special teams, 4 quarters baby and roll... The Ravens went on to humiliate the Gmen in the Super Bowl
  2. Stanley deserves the day off, work him in slowly. He looked great, even looked perturbed when they rotated him our so clearly his fire to play is there. At full strength, the running game is about to take off...
  3. This defense played its best game of the season, a complete game. I know, I know, the Bengals line is terrible, but still. Perhaps they are finally putting things together. Shoot, even Peters made tackles, was aggressive in his tackles. This was something to build on even with yet another injury in the secondary. If the offense puts together a full game, and the defense does as well, they can beat anyone. This should be fun to watch.
  4. Well JPP had some major snaps in the game, played very well and clearly opened things up for others.
  5. Thank you so much for this place, for all that you do, you are truly an amazing person.
  6. It's about entertainment as much as anything. We may not be happy with the loss, nor is the team, but that was another exciting game. GB is only down a bit because their drafted receivers are struggling, dropping game changing passes. They also missed on several drafted defenders, so their defense is not as good. The same for KC with their 1 SB win, but they, like us, have had issues on their offensive line with injuries, keeping them out of the SB. So as I said, the draft is the key to eating these contracts, and not getting indigestion. Draft well enough, develop the young talent, you have a five year window, keep drafting well, that window stays open longer. It's no different, just more important. The Rams screwed them selves by giving a away all of those picks. Eric, thus far, has missed on his draft picks by & large. Sure, there is still time for them to develop, so we will have to wait and see.
  7. Just an FYI, in case it is not just me, but I see a lot of ghosting going on, some photos people use as their image icon are not showing up, thread titles are mingling. I access the site on my phone so maybe it is just me? Thanks, as always, for this place, I enjoy it greatly, Tim
  8. Why? Kc, GB, LA, all do it and are still pretty good teams. It comes down to drafting well after that contract. Now, that is another discussion, can Eric and the team draft well once again?
  9. On that play, Lamar had Wasington and Dobbins to his left, both on curl routes. There were 3 defenders to that side, set in the endzone. The pass, if thrown on time before Dobbins makes his break, could have been completed, though Dobbins would have taken a heck of shot from a closing dB. Lamar never looked over though, he appeared to be fixated looking for Andrews who was on a drug route to the right, along with Duv, who was able to shake his defender, get wide open in the corner of the endzone. But the rush up the middle, from Powers and Lindy, was too quick and heavy, forcing Lamar back, he didn't see Duv until it was too late. By that time Andrews had worked back to him and gained position on his defender. Lamar, if anything, should have thrown to Andrews, at the goal line. A difficult catch but one Andrews had made before. Maybe he was trying and because of his back pedal the ball sailed, was picked on a great play by the defender. My point, Lamar, pay him, while he still waits for an open man instead of anticipation throwing or reading presnap who should get the ball, he makes this pass game go because he can escape pressure more times than not. You won't get even an Aarron Roger's surviving behind this line. The Bill's overwhelmed the offensive line up the middle, the tackles played well, it was the rookie, Zeigler, Powers, who were the weak link. Stunts, twists gave them fits as the saying goes. Maybe more time is needed. But it will be cheaper to pay Lamar than it would to find and pay an offensive line capable to protecting a pocket passer. They failed for years,, one major reason Flacco never worked after the magical run. Maybe Lamar, now that we appear to have 2 good wide outs to go with Andrews, will start to throw people open, throw on time now that it clearly appears that he is trying to be a pocket passer...
  10. He was good for a penalty a game, couldn't shake the injury bug either. But wideouts couldn't shake him when he was at his best. A true Raven, maybe the last of the "old guard", of an ˈirə,ˈerə gone by. Back when players played like a Raven.... https://www.nfl.com/news/longtime-ravens-cb-jimmy-smith-retires-after-11-seasons-in-nfl
  11. Yeah the camera caught it after the coaches and players pulled/prevented Peters from getting to Harbs. I actually agree with going for it, just not the play call, design. They had to know the Bill's would rush everyone not matched in man. To not have crossing routes against that scheme was a big red flag. Even on the field side, one receiver doing a curl route? No rub routes? That is on Roman, not Harbs. Now his reasoning was faulty, saying getting 7 was better because if they had gotten the 3 the defense would have been at a disadvantage with the Bill's using 4 downs.. what, the Bill's would punt on a 3rd down if the Ravens were up by 7 and not 3? Makes no sense. The team being flat again, in the 2nd half, is a bigger issue and on Harbs
  12. So Owe is the one who screwed up and made the tackle, preventing the Bill's from scoring a touchdown at the end. They had been rightly instructed to let them score. This team is so close, they drove the field, 92 yards, just couldn't get the blocking, or call the right play, or see the open man on time, to put the ball in the endzone. Lamar made a mistake trying to force one, should have thrown it away, maybe it ends differently if the Bill's start their drive from the goal line. Maybe they win in over time if Owe doesn't make that tackle as he was told. In any event, that was a playoff team, we saw some great plays, on both sides of the ball. They are close if they stick together.
  13. Peters was right to blow up, the end plays were uncalled for, terrible game management. From the redzone play calls for the offense in the first and at the end of the long drive at the end to the defense not letting them score.. Both sides of the ball once again coming out of half time completely flat is inexcusable. The season is far from over, we have glimpses of a very good team, but where they go from here is anyone's guess
  14. Too bad about No Gain, he was having the best game of his career... injuries keep piling up
  15. Another 2nd half collapse, terrible red zone schemes,. The best redzone pass routes are horizontal, yet they fail to employ those = a pick and a loss. Another game that could have and should have won. Something has to change.
  16. Ravens pinned inside their 5 yard... what a time for a 95 yard, 18 play, 9 min scoring drive for the win, right?
  17. Huge sack by Owe! Much needed forcing a punt
  18. There is no urgency on offense, no energy on defense
  19. That ball was thrown way too low (and late)
  20. Tipped and picked, good night
  21. Okay here we go, 4th quarter, first and 10, let's go!
  22. Qb sneak, they get it despite the officials who have been horrible this game
  23. You have to go for it, youve done nothing this half
  24. Bull crap, he crosses the first down line clearly
