  1. Queen:

He can put the ball anywhere on the field, he can run. He does not want to slide, so anytime you've got a quarterback that's willing to lower that shoulder, that's a huge threat to your defense," linebacker Patrick Queen said.

"We've just got to go out there and play our game, honestly. It could be any quarterback in the league that goes out there. It's up to us, what we want to do, how we want to be remembered, how we want to play, how we want the defense to look when we play the Cleveland Browns."

Agent 0 on this match up

"Good veteran quarterback. Been in the league for a while. Got a lot of respect for him," linebacker Roquan Smith said. "A guy that can let it rip and he's able to use his legs as well. We'll be very prepared for it.  "This is our territory. This is our Bank. We've got to protect our money. We've got to do that by any means necessary. We're definitely going to welcome him here and lock the gates and then we're going to slug it out. However it happens, it's going to happen, but I like us."

Roquan Smith had played his entire NFL career with the Bears before they traded him to the Ravens in the middle of last season, and after getting over the initial shock, Smith found himself delighted to be playing for a contender.  The Ravens are currently among the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl, while the Bears are 2-16 since trading Smith, the worst record in the NFL over that time. Smith is glad to be out of Chicago.  “Man, it’s pretty crazy thinking back to when I was initially traded,” Smith told Abert Breer of SI.com. “It was bittersweet for me, just knowing Chicago and rightfully so. But if I would’ve stayed there, honestly, wouldn’t have been able to compete for a title anytime soon. And then when I came over here, it took me a while, like a couple of weeks, to really realize how stacked this team was, as well as how many good people there are on this team, and how they just bring in truly good people. And when I just think about it from the perspective of having the opportunity to compete for one year in and year out with the talent we have. Man, it makes me so happy, just knowing my career is not going down the drain, in the sense of playing somewhere where I’m not truly competing for a title.”

Smith thinks the Ravens are the franchise he was meant to play for.  “That’s something I really pride myself on and just coming here,” Smith said. “We live it every single day. And it’s from top to bottom. And I just couldn’t be more excited just to be a part of a great organization that I am.”  The 26-year-old Smith signed a five-year, $100 million contract with the Ravens, and he looks poised to play the prime of his career in Baltimore. Just where he wants to be

  4. Yes, the Ravens are getting into the meat of their schedule, though by record, they have already crushed 3 teams with winning records, by a combined score of 103-12, including one game in Cleveland where they smashed a Watson-less team, 28-3.

So other than the location and the addition of Watson, what will the Ravens face?

The lure of resting on their laurels, pride of knowing the recent past. Two things that sink a good team from time to time. So who are the Browns (5-3) now? They have lost 2 of 3 games by 4 points each.

With Watson, who has only played in 5 games this year, He is completing 62% of his passes, for 902 yards,  with 6 tds and 3 into. He has been sacked 13 times and will be without starting left Jedric Willis Jr, so who will be their starting tackles remains a mystery.

Watson is averaging 180 per games, 6.2 yards per pass.

They are averaging 144 yards per game on the ground, 4 yards per. As usual when they face the Ravens, they like to run off tackle where they seem to have success. Stopping the run, especially those to the outside will be key to shutting down this offense.

The 2nd key is to get to Watson, who, when hit early and often, is prone to making mistakes, turning the ball over. As a team they have fumbled 13 times, losing 6. They are -4 in turnovers.

Their defense is allowing only 256 total yards per game, 89 on the ground, 3.7 yards per carry. They have 7 interceptions on the season and an impressive 27 sacks.

These teams know each other well, if the Ravens play with the fire and passion of the past few games, the results should be the same. Special teams played well in the last game, they must do the same this time.

  5. Some have yes, whether that is Hill trying to keep the ball or Lamar trying, we will never know.

The pocket fumbles, some are on Lamar with either not having good picket awareness or being loose with the ball when moving inside the pocket. Those have to stop and are him.

A few have been the fault of a lineman missing his block and the defender getting to Lamar quickly, as we saw Sunday with Stanley whiffing ona block and the strip sack.

  6. Yeah, I was hoping he would be better, still a great run blocker and puller, but smaller, fast rushers are giving him an issue.

He did well when there was a chip block, so maybe that is the answer moving forward.

He and the line will be tested over the next few weeks, with some good defensive fronts.

They've faced em before, time to take it to them.

Indeed.  Watched him play when he was at ECU.  He was hungry, shifty and fast then and showed it again today against a quality defense.  Going forward, I really like him as a change up to Gus.  The three - Gus. Keet and Justice - give us a nice backfield 👍

I was skeptical, but he showed just what this offense needs, some one who is naturally shifty, knows how to get small to fit through a small hole and explode once out.

Hill just has to work too hard to make cuts, a reason, I believe, he falls so often, untouched.

I was pleased with Mitchel's pass blocking as well, he made a point to chip on his way out into his route, helping Stanley a few times.

Big test for him this week with rhe Cleveland defense
