  1. Flacco just has bursitis, rest, ice, pain meds; easy peasy. But this half the team being injured & or taking longer than players on other teams to return to the field has to make ya wonder. This is not the first year for this.
  2. Let us see. The Ravens can't cover nor rush the passer, so we should expect the Geno of West Virginia like numbers.....
  3. Add Ozzie to the list.
  4. He hasnt been the same since his last two injuries. He has lost power because of the bad wheels, and is mostly a no show because of it; time to cut ties with him. Younger, stronger players need the reps...
  5. Cant argue about Flacco. I dont know where his head is at, at this point. He missed several open receivers for touchdowns. One play comes to mind early in thw first half when they were in the red zone. He had time, he had Wallace in the endzone one an in breaking route and Pitta at the five on a crossing route, they were tiered. Had thrown to either of them, their defenders were behind them, it is 7 pts. Instead he threw to Aiken on the outside who went ob at the 5. That is just one instance. Maybe he is shell shock and feeling ghosts as the saying goes, so he wants to get rid of it quickly. Maybe with all the changes in offensive coordinators, he still has echoes in his head... Either way, he is not seeing the field clearly, it appears to me from the tv view. But that clock management at the end was terrible as well. I don't blame him for the loss, the play calls were terrible once again. Harbs wanting to take that 15 yard penalty on the extra point showed, to me, he continues to show terrible game management and his press conference, what a joke. He thinks he has talented guys in the secondary who can cover but they just don't look? Same old Ravens is what first came to mind when the game ended. Poor line play, poor play calling\ play design, poor game management, no pressure on the quarterback, poor fans for yet another game that should have been won but was lost.
  6. Nor am I max, but they had few options this time of year. I hope Marty uses Gilmore more often, he is a match up nightmare down the middle, in the seams more so than Pita is because of his size. Hopefully Marty starts using plays designed to get players open rather than a spread series of routes that Trestman ran.
  7. I agree about the special teams, he needs to be gone next. Joe is not on target, he is completing 63 percent so far this year. This, while receivers can't get much seperation and he has no time. As was pointed out in the broadcast yesterday, with little room for error, it makes it difficult to complete passes. Add in the lack of time to scan and throw... We see the results. I know Joe has thrown many passes away to save a sack. I wish they kept a stat on that. Add in the drops and his completion % goes up even higher. I am not saying he has been deadly accurate, he has missed some throws, some open receivers and chosen to throw somewhere else, all qb's do this. But this offense struggling is not Joe. Another offensive coordinator, another blow to Ozzie & Harbs on their decisions..... Castillo is the 3rd coach who needs to be fired. This line has been bad since he arrived and took full control of it..
  8. Oh I am sure Harbs had a loud voice in the move. I am not sold on Reynolds, no quickness, no real speed. I would think the other rookie could handle it, Moore, some one. Either way, so far Hester is not working out at all.
  9. Hester wants to know, how do you like him now? What, an usher couldn't waive off punts, pin the offense inside their own 10 yardline multiple times per game? I'll grant you, the blocking is not always there, but a punt returner's job is to make a few players miss.... So far, all he has really done is make Ozzie swing & miss....
  10. Flacco is averaging just over 6 yards per pass (traveling), the lowest of his career. As Moose pointed out on the broadcast, no one is winning their match up on the outside. Without Smith sr there is no true slot man, no quickness, that is Ozzie's fault. I did not expect a lot of wins this year with such a young roster at several positions. I also expected some mistakes. But not the same mistakes each game, not to lose games because of coaching...
  11. Other teams use their 3rd string tackles, centers and guards and do not miss a beat. They can run screens and at least get back to the line of scrimmage, the Ravens can do neither, usually lose 3-4 yards and can barely get good consistent blocking from their starting linemen. That is coaching and that is the first place I would start firing; the line coach.
  12. Whether it is the head coach making a bone headed decision (two this game) or the play calling (offense & defense), while players need to make plays, a coach's job is to 1) teach 2) prepare 3) put players in position to win. It is clear by the lack of plays being made, the bone headed mistakes being made, that this team is poorly taught, ill prepared and are not being used in a way to get the most out of them. Pick your poison today, the stupid choice to try and draw the skins off side, then call a time and go to a fake field goal. Or, waste another time for a pass from your own 48 with 1 second left in the half, leading to a sack and, more importantly, an injury to a position that can not afford one. Or maybe the way the special teams unit continues to let up big plays, major chunks of field position. Or the defense that can't cover and can't play zone because players are constantly out of position. This has been an issue now for several seasons, no matter who the players are; that is coaching. Or the lack of imagination is the offense, going away from what is working, the run with West, then not even bothering to uae play action! Their defense was terrible, but played like champs because they clearly knew what was coming after the first series.... I could go on with the issues this team has, but this post is already too long...
  13. Yeah I think the Ravens slow starts will bite them this week, keep them from making it close in the 2nd half... Hope I am wrong, enjoy your self, go home horse!
  14. Boy is this one difficult to call. The skins can score pts with Cousins slinging it & we know this secondary is very sketchy. It looks like the line will be almost back to full strength, for what it is worth with Urshel and Lewis swapping positions.... The skins defense is not very food, perfect, just the type of defense this offense struggles with.. How will Dixon do? Try too hard and forget to take care of the football? Skunks 34, Ravens 17...
  15. They put him on IR, he needs surgery... Oh yes, it is just a coinky dink they needed the roster spot....
  16. They put him on IR, he needs surgery... Oh yes, it is just a coinky dink they needed the roster spot....
  17. No one is asking for a hall of fame player. We are simply discussing the team, the front office, their lack of finding \ developing good players instead of the 3rd stringers they keep bringing in & or drafting at most every position save for a few... If that makes us "non-fans" so beit. Ps, no one said Ozzie made a mistake releasing Justin, quite the opposite, he made another mistake re-signing after the initial cut.
  18. According to which site? They are 8th in pts given up, 1st in total yards per game, 3rd in passing yards per game (who have they faced ) 5th in rushing yards per game, According to NFL.com....
  19. Mash unit had little to do with last year, they were bad before the injuries started. You can say playoffs, but the quality of play on this team has gone down steadily over the past 5-6 years. Maybe the Super Bowl win was the pinochle, and this is the down years trilogy, who knows. No offensive line moves save one, have worked out, the latest one is still unproven with the rookie. Linebackers have the inconsistent, no matter how some want to pump them, the middle backers, up. Secondary, what move has worked out? Weddle? Still remains to be seen, I do think he was a good signing though. Steve Smith was obviously a great signing, that is one. Even Dummervil, to me, has been money wasted, oh he gets his sacks against bad teams, early in games, but he is no where to be found in the 4th quarters... This team has made the playoffs inspite of bad moves, and I believe because overall play in the NFL is way down because of these new practice rules and penalty rules.. He has found gems on the defensive line, especially the past few years. There is great young talent there, maybe some on the offensive line with Stanley, Lewis and Yanda, possibly Wagner, but they need to prove out. My point is, Ozzie has been missing more & more and this move (along with the Kenan Reynolds drafting) are just the tip of the iceberg.. Time will tell..
  20. As I said, this season will say a lot about the moves he has made. Yes, 3-1, could be 4-0 or could be 0-4. I know this is a process, I am just discussing this team, Ozzie and his moves over the past five years...Thus why this team has struggled so much this year especially, despite being 3-1.
  21. That is awesome.
  22. That is not saying much, there are a lot of players better than Elam and some of them are flipping burgers today. It is too early to say if any of those three moves you mentioned work out. Wallace is likely on his last team, Watson may or may not come back from the injury, and Weddle is solid so far, but how much longer can he play at this level the way he hits? Sure, a lot of teams mqke mistakes on players, but the reason this team has been in the dumps since the Super Bowl is because of all the bad mistakes Ozzie and his staff have made. Good teams don't stay bad for long, this could be year number 4... Draft picks should be reaching their value by now.. So far, this team's have not.... We shall see as the season unfolds.
  23. Plenty of Ravens fans, fans at every game, at every stadium, treat people badly.
  24. Oh I know, but follow me here. The coaches chose to hold him out of the pre-season. Then, after Ozzie brings him back from the 72 man purge, they again sit him for a game. This, after seeing him in practice, then in 3 games (some players play faster in games)... Seeing, knowing he lost his speed & quickness. So obviously, the coaches either did not want him on the team or, they did but in a limited role. Had he know this after being cut shortly after the end to the pre-season, do you think he waits to sign back with the team? To me, clearly Ozzie or Biscutt wanted him back and told him, either directly or through omission, that he would not be a part time player.... Thus, I continue my stance from a few years ago that Ozzie needs to go or there needs to be major changes in the front office, scouting staffs..
  25. How many of his moves, draft and free agency, have worked out the past five years? Sure, he won a super bowl, but did that cover over some of the bad moves? Brooks was not much better than Elam, both were bad draft picks.
