  1. This is the Ravens we are talking about............
  2. They get their money. The more they gold out for, the less teams have to pay other players. Team quality drops, the league would have to raise the cap, the owners and league make less money so they raise ticket, concession, etc, making it very prohibitive for the average fan to go. The game it self is on the brink of collapse as it is, price the fans out, no more NFL. No, I am not being hysterical, just look at the recent retirements of good, young players. All the medical eveidence ahowing concussions are bad for the brain, as if we didn't already know this.... Stadium deals that cost tax payers Billions and thd issues of homelessness, hunger, joblessness, and yes, refugees, and soon there is plenty of reasons to not fund new stadiums, bye-bye NFL.
  3. Ok, let's get down in dirty.. Yes, just one camp practice, no pads, no pressure. Nice little work out catching the ball standing still with two people hitting his arms; well done... it ends there.... Sure, nice to see him run & cut, but his routes are rounded off, not sharp; still. He drifts on the out routes; still... He doesn't catch the ball clean with his hands, he gathers it with them; still... I know, I know, it is early, he is "rusty" but these were the issues he had in college....... (ducking, in coming)
  4. It can set a precedent for other contracts. While the money is slotted, you might see players holding out for guarantee money.....
  5. He had surgery today, all went as expected, should return in time for training camp. According to ESPN.
  6. Time will tell..
  7. Oh yes, a running game will wear a defense down by punishing them, but also by ball control, getting first downs, keep them on the field longer. But as you pointed out, Jamal often times was a dancing bear when there were no lanes. Add to that, big backs just don't last, they take a punishment, Brandon Jacobs, Jamal, nust two examples, short careers. A balanced offense can do the same; wear a defense down just by keeping them on the field longer. Long drives work well too.. Just look at the Ravens last season, their offense could not sustain drives, their defense could not get off the field. By the end of tehe games, the defense could not stop a toddler...
  8. They don't make big backs who can carry the load of an NFL season any more, college wears em out. Derrick Henry should be a good test and even then, he will be sharing the load. Also, they, bigger backs, need running lanes, most lineman are, collectively, good at run blocking or pass blocking. Rarely both, consitantly, even then, if they are, they are too expensive to keep along with the highly paid running back...
  9. It is shamefull, but what we should have come to expect from today's NFL.... The NFL should have been paying them...
  10. Intersting finding in there, Ramsey had microfracture surgery as a sophmore in high school.... Who knows if he would have been injured here, maybe it is the Jags practice turf, look at the injuries to all of their top picks over the past few years......
  11. Yes a much better comparison, well done sir. Moore does track the deep ball better, something Torrey still cannot do. If it isn't right at him, Smith loses, flails trying to adjust. Not with Moore, he does adjust well to it and has little trouble finding it. My concern, aside from the lack of consistency in his hands, is can he get open, get deep in the NFL? The Ravens rarely go five wide, hurry up like the Cats did, but he is a hard worker, a fighter if you will, I love his "attitude" for the ball...
  12. Oh boy, he got seperation from, Recievers! Hey Eric, did Apple actually cover Moore (no) (not until after Moore torched their secondary) and while the other coverages were skewed away from him in 5 wide sets. 4.5 is not blazing speed, comparing him to Smith is not exactly a ringing endorsement....
  13. When ever any org uses the name czar it always ends up, messed up..
  14. Just seeing how they do the surgery hurts.... I too hope he can get back, enjoyed watching him run in college.
  15. One of the biggest cover ups in the history of the league..power outage my patooe.... Oh yeah and his touchdown return too....
  16. Speed of the game, pressure from better coverages, confusion from coverages, the list could go on as to why... Oh yeah and the ball is slightly bigger...
  17. Oh so Johnny U was not that good, his receivers made him look good?
  18. He is if his name is pinky.
  19. That is it in a nut shell isn't it Tc; the way they have rated players the past few drafts. Sure, we can see now that some one is wrong either in the scouting or which scouts they place more faith in for college players. Obviously Ozzy has ths last say, but clearly something is a miss. If none of these draft picks works out, I don't see how Biscut can keep from making major changes...
  20. There is some truth to that, not entirely, but some. Does a receiver make a quarterback, or does a quarterback make a receiver? There is no doubt Swan and Stallworth made Bradshaw. But did Rice make Montanna & Young? Did Michael Jackson and Derrick Alexander make Vinnie?
  21. Those two put on a show! Ah camp days. Moore was nice enough to give Sock & I an interview, I'll never forget that, great time with the great man.
  22. In the 4th alone, they chose Chris Moore, some one unfinished, raw, tough kid don't get me wrong, but he can only run one route, is a 4.55 forty guy and has suspect hands.. They could have, for example, had Malcolm Mitchel, better speed, ran a variety of routes at Georgia, though he too is unfinished, raw, but has return ability, very good, and better hands... They SHOULD have taken, yes time will tell, Pharoh Cooper, a complete receiver with great hands, loves the slot & return game, tremendous run after the catch and runs solid routes. He too went in the 4th, AFTER the Ravens drafted. in the 6th instead of a popular pick, they could have taken Kolby Listenbee from TCU who went 17th in the 6th. A real wide out who can return kicks/punts, He has REAL SPEED, 4.39. He does have loose hands because of a lack of focus, he is raw on routes, but he has jitters and can get deep. A far better player than Moore and my goodness, much more accomplished at wide out than Reynolds. Just a few examples... Obviously the Ravens "rated" the players they took higher.... Time will tell....
  23. No one said the Ravens should give up on drafting receivers.. What was said is that for a team no never have developed one, it makes no sense to take a guy who had never played the position and try and turn him into one. Especially since they have no depth at the position, no slot guy, no real return man and, here is the key, in the 6th, there were several players already established at both return and slot poaitions... Or they could have drafted a defensive back, another position of desperate need...
  24. It is worse than the Cleveland quarterback debacle..... It is a wonder this team has won 2 Super Bowls, one with an hostoric defense the other, with miracle plays..
  25. Black & white rules! We kept in shape getting up to change the channel.
