Yeah they would save about 8 mil if they cut him, but then have almost twice that in dead money.
The Ravens have a ton of dead money already, thanks to the "new way" of doing contracts. You want to do void Yeats they come back to bite you if you can't get an extension done in time.
I think they hang onto him one more year.
This team was so close, and boom, just like that, start over.

The woman told Acton Police that she had photographs of her bruises, but she did not share them, officers wrote. Her father confirmed the bruises. She did not seek medical treatment. An Acton Police officer can be heard on body-camera footage saying there were injuries, according to the report.
But we don't know how she got those injuries nor the extent of the injuries.
And what is with the call from the neighbor's house? Did they report hearing a fight?
Why did the Baltimore County officers sit outside for 2 hours without knocking on the door?

A woman showed up to the Acton Police Department in Massachusetts last month to report a “violent domestic incident” involving an NFL player in Owings Mills. She told police that the player’s brother drew a gun, according to police records released Tuesday. She declined to identify the NFL player or seek further action from law enforcement, officers wrote.
Here is the problem, she told the story, but would not tell one police department the who.
Then followed up with this
She told officers “it was a really bad ten minutes but [she] hasn’t been scared since,” according to police records. She also told them “he has too much to lose and that he is too smart to do something like that.”
Like what? What she said he did? Or repeat what he did?
What did she tell Baltimore County? Ya know, where this reportedly happened?
The records show the woman declined to file a police report and officers connected her to Flowers only by social media
Officers contacted an attorney for the suspect, but the attorney told them his client would not be available for an interview. Police wrote that they also called a Ravens vice president of security, but that he was out of town and would call them when he returns
So we can see how the police had no choice but to drop the investigation. Which, does not mean that nothing happened nor that Flowers is innocent.

The Ravens I am sure know the truth, if it is true that he hit her, I doubt that they keep him.

Well, she gave a different story to each police department. So I'm sure that didn't make the investigation very easy.

Zeitler is the only one I think will not be back. He was very good, but it was rhe best season of his career, like VanNoy, can he repeat it? The Ravens obviously are not convinced or else they would have met his price.
They have 3 guards behind him, frankly I'm not too concerned.
Stanley finally has an off season to rest, from play and from recovery from surgery, so he gets a real off season.
I think that will do wonders for him. Maybe they can get him to take a pay cut to help the cap...
Either way, I don't think that the line will be as dire as some fans, media, are making it out to be.

Some not so good news from the Ravens website
The Ravens did not sign Zeitler to an extension before yesterday's deadline, meaning his deal is voided and he will become a free agent. The same is true for running back Gus Edwards, safety Geno Stone and cornerback Rock-Ya Sin. By not extending them, the Ravens will reportedly have approximately $8.5 million in dead money on the 2024 salary cap. Zeitler carries a $4 mil dead money hit, so resigning him now would not be a good cap move.

Stanley is likely getting one more year, while he played better, certainly not at the level he is being paid.
Guard I think will be fine, they are working on a deal with Zeilter and have Vorhees who will be ready.
They do need tackle no doubt, someone to take over for Stanley when it will it be better, cap wise, to cut him next year. Also Moses, bring him back? Either way, at his age, right tackle is another need.
The big fella just doesn't seem to be able to handle speed rushers, but with his size and run blocking, plus still on his rookie deal, he is worth keeping around for shortyardage and goal line dutites.
There are a few good, not great, but good tackles in the draft, the Ravens should be able to at least fix the right tackle

I don't know what capital we'd have to trade, but it might be worth trading up in round one to get a starter at LT.
I wouldn't trade up in the 1st, too costly for what talent is there. Now a trade up in round 2, 3 4, sure, not as costly and better talent for the cost.

Rakestraw would be a nice pick up, in the 2nd or 3rd round. Start him inside, slot, let him learn and be a shut down corner later in the year...

I agree papa about PSU players, pass rushers to be more exact.
They build their number off a weak schedule, disappear when they finally play a good team.
I like Burton, plays with an edge but he too tends to disappear in games when he is not featured.
Bad qb play at Georgia hurt him? Hardly, they won back to back Championships because of their qb play. Who ever wrote that is a dolt
As for Fuqga, solid player, the write is a bit disingenuous, Lamar was MVP this past season without Yanda

Coleman I like a lot, very good skill set. Multi sport player in high-school helped to mold his game.
Not a true burner, but he can out run many,looking forward to seeing his 30 time, I'm guessing 4.5-4.9
But, he has tremendous hands, and if he can play in the pros the way he does in college, with attitude, using his size and strength, he could be a special talent.

Well, it did in this one game. Their defensive secondary plays a match up zone, with their speed it frustrates a lot of quarterbacks.
But Lamar made a lot of progress this year, maybe you can't see it, maybe, you don't want to see it.
Yes, he still has a ways to go but clearly has put alot of work in, according to his teamates, proof on the field.
Will he ever be able to drop a pass in 25 yards down field along the sidelines? Or a true back shoulder throw?
I hope so, time will tell.

Teams have been doing that for years against running quarterbacks. Sometimes it works, some time it does not.
When you hold off the rush and have your linebackers/safeties tied up in keeping the running quarterback from breaking free, plays open up behind them.
This is what Lamar was looking for, but hanging onto the ball too long, most times.
This is also why, in the 4th, Hill, Gus, we're able to gain big yards from the flat. Lamar finally settled down and dumped it down; big gains.
It was open all game but Lamar was locked in to deep passing for what ever reason.
Against Houston, he did the same but found the open man quicker, mostly because Kc has a faster secondary. The way you best them is short passing, a lot of first downs, move down the field.
This would have forced them into coverage, rather than spying, which would have opened his running lanes in the 4th.

Yes, they did, 0 blitz, rush lanes, late corner blitzes. Just because the line held, or Lamar relaxed and threw to the hot read, was able to avoid it, buy time and find open receivers does not mean that they didn't try.
KC only had success because Lamar tried to do too much. It wasn't so much the blitz that he has seen most, if not all season, maybe it was just the pressure of the game?
Maybe he just wanted it too badly.

It wasn't just running the ball. Even with those passing plays, he had receivers open, short, some in the flat. But he ignored then to try and get the ball down field.
Had he just done in the first 3 quarters, what he finally did in the 4th, they would have won.

Female answered and was crying, said she didn’t have an emergency, but she seemed in distress when she hung up the phone,” a Baltimore County police dispatcher said.
I know, not much, but they, Baltimore County and MA police are being very tight lipped which has upset many politicians here in Maryland

There are moves that they would have to make any way, converting salary to bonus, extensions, etc, but those moves might not have been enough, on their own to keep him, now, perhaps they are...
