Although I am sure Papa will disagree vehemently and say that Ozzie doesn't trade away all our good players for first round picks after three years! Haha just giving you a hard time Papa http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8896482/bill-barnwell-baltimore-consistent-winning

Once Flacco wins the Super Bowl then we can anoint him the best Big-Game QB.

What a dumbass.

Looks like Ray may be in a bit of trouble.
thundercleetz replied to BengalBilly's topic in Baltimore Ravens
BengalBilly summed up the drug the best, its nothing more than a ghetto viagra. Ray did not fail any drug test. How about players that did fail drug tests but got off on a technicality, Richard Sherman or Ryan Braun? No one remembers any of these situations. Sherman's situation was only over a month ago. Everyone will forget about this as well. Anyways a Hopkins doctor came out and said that this substance would not contain any banned substances. http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/baltimore-sports-blog/bal-ray-lewis-denies-using-banned-substance-during-rehab-from-injury-20130129,0,7725655.story -
Anyone have any info on UMD move
thundercleetz replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Maryland Terrapins / NCAA
For those worried about UMD's lacrosse program after the move to the Big Ten, there are rumors that the B1G could be forming a conference and Hopkins might be interested in joining the B1G as a lacrosse-only member. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/bs-sp-digest-0130-20130130,0,3439751.column This might not happen in the immediate future as Hopkins still benefits from being independent. However, this might be a good move for both the B1G and Hopkins. The B1G gets an elite (if not the best) program to add legitimacy to their new conference, and Hopkins will be in a power conference with near unlimited financial backing that will ensure that the school will not fall behind as lacrosse grows out of its infancy and big-time universities start pouring money into their programs, leaving smaller, academic-focused schools behind (think Ivy League football programs in the early 1900s). -
Boldin is in for a huge day. If there is a weakness on the Niners D it is the corners. Tarrell Brown and Carlos Rodgers were absolutely abused by Roddy White and Julio Jones. Boldin is a big physical receiver who has seemed to regain his elite level of play since Caldwell has took over as OC. Boldin is too physical for both of these corners and Torrey Smith is going to attract a lot of attention with safety help. Pitta and Boldin should kill it underneath. On defense the Niners are extremely thin at receiver. It's Michael Crabtree and tight-ends Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker pretty much as the #2 and 3 guys. Moss is a shell of his former self. I feel confident that our corners can man-up on the receivers, and have Ed Reed hovering the middle of the field to neutralize Davis. If we can stop the run this game is over IMO. What I'm scared of: we will not run the ball on the Niners heads up. If we run the ball, it will have to be like last week against the Pats. Get the defense on there heels with the pass game and be smart with the run game. The Niners front seven is rock solid, we do no good running into a brick wall. Our runs have to be calculated attacks like the second half of last week. I am scared of Kaepernick's ability. If we cannot stop the run then Kap is going to have a field day. The bottom line here is Kap has eight career starts. Our defense is at its best making uncomfortable situations for opposing QB's. if we can confuse Luck, Brady, and Manning, then I am sure we will have an awesome gameplan set up for Kap. With the combined knowledge and film study skills of Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, and Dean Pees, I think our gameplan is going to win this game. I do not think this will be a close game. I think this game will be won at the line of scrimmage and the team that wins that battle will have a commanding win. Lets hope it's us that wins this battle.

I'm with papa and Dunno. I don't buy it. I'm not saying Ozzie's a lier, I'm saying he's not telling the whole story in this specific instance.

Got me so pumped!!!!

I agree max I still cannot believe it. However I already getting that nervous feeling leading up to the game that I've had each of the last two weeks. Media week up to the big game will be fun but we HAVE TO WIN! We just have to! With everything this team has been through, and not only being Ray's last year, but possibly Ed's and Birk's too, a loss would be devastating. This is our year! Lets get it!
-
There's too much knowledge on this defense with Ray, Reed, and Pees to let this gimmick pistol offense beat us. Two weeks of Ray, Ed, and Pees studying tape, we are going to shut this down!

Mediocre Quarterbacks Downplay Flacco's Performance
thundercleetz replied to deeshopper's topic in Baltimore Ravens
The criticism of Joe will not stop unless he wins in two weeks. Win the Super Bowl and everyone shuts up. This is Joe's chance to shut up his critics and name his price on a new contract. -
Not only that Max but Caldwell got creative with the run. He saw the Pats game planned toward stopping the run out of base formations so he went to the gun and put the Pats on their heels. Also credit to Hostler. Now that Cam's out this is not a one man band coming up with the gameplan. Caldwell, Joe, Harbaugh, Hostler, even Boldin probably had some input on the gameplan or in game adjustments.
-
Don't jump the gun yet Papa's ultimate prediction was Ray wasn't winning another Super Bowl. Lets wait two weeks.
-
Caldwell and Joe are a match made in heaven. Cam doesn't win that game. Caldwell exposed the mismatches, made adjustments at halftime and put Joe in position to so. This game. We have something really good here, we have to win next week!

Norv Turner to join Browns staff as offensive coordinator
thundercleetz replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Cleveland Browns
Rumors going around that Lombardi is going to go hard after Pats QB Ryan Mallett. Lombardi loved Mallett coming out of Arkansas in 2011, he had him rated as the top QB of that class. The strong-armed QB could be a good fit for their offense with big guys in Gordon and Little who can also get deep, a solid offensive line and a stud running back. The Browns are actually putting together some good pieces. -
Suggs looked great last week against the Broncos. This is as healthy as he's been all year. Him and Kruger are going to have to step it up this week!

I turned this game off when it was 27-7... What happened? I heard Pete Carroll tried to ice the Falcons kicker and it back fired?
-
Denver's homefield advantage worked against them there, "the altitude". It looked like that ball was going to be picked off but it kept sailing and sailing.
-
I loved the gamesmanship Tucker showed coming out on the field and kicker a practice FG with the trainer at the end of the first OT. He kicked it right in front of the vet Champ Bailey, who was not happy and complained to the ref. The ref then told Tuck he wasn't allowed to do that and Tuck shrugged him off. After the game Michael Perriera confirmed kickers are not allowed to do that but it is not a penalty. I am sure there will be a new "J-Tuck" rule for kickers after that. I love it! This rookie has ice in his veins!

Did any hear Harbaugh talk about the text Bisciotti sent him during the game? Something along the lines of: "I have never texted you during the game and even though we are down 35-28 this is the greatest playoff game I have seen from the team since the 2000 Super Bowl."
-
BEST. GAME. EVER!!!!! Oh yeah, John Elway Baltimore sends you a big FU!!! It only took thirty years!

What about Kyle Boller?
