My primary concern about the Colts matchup is Bruce Arians. Arians had our number when he played us as OC of Pittsburgh. He is very good with route progression and getting receivers open downfield. I am worred Arians will make adjustments throughout the game to find the defining big play.
-
I'm sure Flacco's agent wants him to hit 4,000 yards.
-
Still worries me that we couldn't punch it in with the ball on the one. Short yardage situations have been our problem all year.

Colts have the fifth seed locked up. Unless NE loses and we win next week we will play Indy. NE is certainly going to be playing to win as they are still in play for a first round bye. It will be interesting to see what games get flexed. Indy will definitely be playing to win against Houston next week with Pagani coming back. Denver plays KC in the late afternoon spot. Denver loses tie breakers against Houston and NE. They have to win. As far as who to rest, anyone else think that Joe and the offense need to play? Caldwell might need experience with his offense calling plays and executing. I'd still rest Yanda if the ankle is sore, or Birk if he is beat up. On defense I would certainly rest Pollard, Ngata, and Suggs. Ed Reed I'm guessing will be suspended for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Cruz.

You could say that about any player you draft. You just have to play him and see what happens. This is more of a redshirt year for Gino. Coming out of a FCS school he needs a year in an NFL weight room. He was drafted for his tools that project as a good center. If Birk retires we'll probably bring in a cheap veteran and let him and Gino battle it out.

No point in crying over spilled milk we can agree to disagree. TOUCHDOWN Ravens!!!!!!!
-
Terrible call. Jones had possession he made a move to extend the ball further. Should have been a TD. Perriera said it best: this crew was told they shouldn't have called a TD on a similar play earlier in the year. Simple case of this crew overreacting.

Boldin in the slot, RR getting touches, slants, crossing routes, back shoulder throws... Has the Ravens offense ever done this before?
-
I didn't pick the Bengals to get into the playoffs, but that was more me not expecting the Steelers to suck this much than me thinking the Bengals sucked. Ravens look good early! Getting RR touches early and executing on both sides of the ball. Lets blow the Giants out!

This is what I have been saying this whole past week. Harbs is definitely on the hot seat.
-
Crav, playing center is 75% mental. Believe me the only reason Birk is out here is to call out the protection. That is why centers play much longer than any other position they are needed for their brains. As poor as the line play has been the protection schemes and blitz pickups have been great. Guys are just getting beat and out executed by the defense. Gino will be the starter next year. Remember he came from an FCS school, and offseason in an NFL classroom and weight room and he will be vastly improved.

I have a good feeling about this week. I think we take the division and Ray gets one last home playoff game.
-
I agree with you guys, I do not want Harbaugh to go. It is critical for him to win one of these last two games. If he loses out, there i no excuse for starting 9-2 and ending 9-7. No excuse. We need to win the division, give something for the team to rally behind. Losing out on a division title with this much of a lead is inexcusable. IMO, best case scenario is win the division this year, then hire Norv Turner as the OC for next season.
-
Kyle Shanahan is just one option. The point I am making, there is a real possibility that Harbaugh is out of a job if this team does not finish strong. We can talk about the injuries all we want but the offense is a mess and is underachieving. Getting to the playoffs is great but our goal is the Super Bowl. Bisciotti knows that and will not settle for being mid-tier.
-
Max, Shanahan was the OC of Houston before leaving to coach with his dad. As young as Shanahan is, he has everything you look for in a young coaching prospect. Sure anytime you hire a young coaching prospect it is a risk. If we want to go with experience there are other guys out there, but I like Shanahan a lot. He utilizes talent with what he has. He is a genius in the running game. I also like Perry Fewell and Greg Roman too. If the Ravens lose out or go one-and-done I think there is a real possibility Harbaugh is gone. The goal here is to win a Super Bowl. We do not want to end up like the Eagles. Great team over a decade but never win the big one. Bisciotti knows when to make a move I trust his judgement.
-
Yes it's a risk but to be great you have to take risks. Wait for Shanahan to prove himself more and another team will scoop him.
-
Right I meant Norv as the OC. But I'm still under the opinion that Kyle Shanahan would be an awesome choice.
-
Lets he honest, the chances of finding a replacement immediately for Flacco are slim to none. I think our best bet is to draft a guy in the third round, get Norv Turner to be the HC, and just see what happens next year. Or an alternative would be to fire Harbaugh, sign Kyle Shanahan to be the head coach, and draft a tough as nail, true badass to play QB in a pistol system that places an enormous emphasis on our extremely talented running backs. On a side note, if we go one and done in the playoffs I think Harbaugh is done. Harbaugh is a great organizer and motivator but I am not sure how much football he knows. For example, I don't think he could run an offense or defense by himself. So he relies on his coordinators a lot, which is a double endged sword. Great when you have a big egoed coach loke Rex Ryan, but when you have an inflexible coach like Cam. IMO our next guy would have to be a true football guy. A genius who knows his X's and O's like the back of his hand. I think Kyle Shanahan is going to be the next big thing when it comes to coaches. “ I studied every potential Xs and Os play and issue possible. I spent my whole life working on that. My goal was that any question a player could have about anything on the field, I'd be able to answer it. ” —Kyle Shanahan Great article here explaining Shanahan's genius: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000113501/article/kyle-shanahan-on-coaching-fast-track-after-adapting-redskins-o

He has been posting on that board for years now. He has reported a lot of news before it has happened. His sources are legit.

You guys want to read somethign really interesting read this topic over on the Orioles Hangout: http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php/128862-Cam-Cameron-Fired!-Replaced-by-Caldwell

I think at the very least this move will improve communication between the players and the gameplan. Cam was notorious for next taking player input and being inflexible with the gameplan. If we are going to commit to Joe the next five or six years we need to know if he is the problem or if Cam is the problem. Firing Cam is the only way to find out for sure what type of QB Joe is. If Joe excels under Caldwell, great. If not, and Norv Turner is out there, get Norv. If Joe cannot excel under Norv, then he never will. But that is down the line.

Maybe something else he learned from Andy

I wonder if this is an order from up top, like Ozzie, or possibly even Bisciotti (unlikely). Please please be Cam Cameron. -
The O's re-sign McLouth. Great value. He is a smart player who gets onbase, plays great defense and can steal bases. Not to mention he is a fan favorite. Should be a good platoon in left field with Reimold and Trayvon Robinson. We are set there. Now we need to fill the big hole at first base. I wonder what Duquette has up his sleeve, but we could really use a big bat with a good glove at that position.
-
Oh yeah I definitely agree there. The best case scenario for the team is a deep pocketed owner buys both the O's and MASN. That way the O's maintain control over the Nats TV rights. Ideally Mark Cuban would be the guy: deep pockets, desire to win, willingness to spend, and experience in broadcasting (HD Net).
