Fwiw - Joe's always been a good to very good ( not great) QB who is overpaid like all other franchise QBs. When the planets align - all the offensive pieces fall into place - like in 2013 Joe can be awesome esp in the playoffs. When the O and its pieces go to crap, so goes Joe. Like em or not, thats Bazooka Joe since we drafted him in 2008. Nothing more, nothing less. FWIW2- We are damn lucky to have him yet continue to give him less and less to work with - from coaching the players around him. The beat goes on......
IDK - but know we should have snatched up Sale or Price when they were available (since we have O SP in the farm system. Max, our SP woes are similar to the Ravens inability to groom the WR position, no ?
Angelos, Duquette, whoever; the wheels have come completely off the cart - after watching a listless, pathetic, piss poor performance against an even more pathetic, embarrassingly bad Chisox team. Ready for Ravens next month
Conditioning is obviously essential but is really the red herring to rediscovering our winning culture here. No questioning the need for a smart, effective conditioning program. The real need, in my mind, is acquiring-drafting much needed talent, esp offensive playmakers and lineman - something we haven't had a penchant for doing in a long time. We get that straightened out; winning and proper conditioning will follow.
Excellent win by Os and 2 out of 3 from Yanks! Maybe that will turn them around. As an aside, what's up with Machado? What's he something like 0 for his last 100. Guy looks lost .
I love being wrong but who saw UBaldo's performance coming ? Anyway, keep proving me wrong UBaldo and keep pitching like that from here on out ! Helluva win
Well Max I think we picked up our lone W last night against the Curly W's. With UBaldo on the mound tonight and Scherzer pitching for team Walgreens I give us two chances to win tonight: slim and none and slim left town. Just thinking about UBaldo pitching tonight gives me the shakes !
Max, I'd like to think we are re-creating another circa 2000 D. Unfortunately I don't think we have anywhere near the personnel, substance or leadership needed to re-create it. But if this approach leads to a similar impact I'm certainly all for it and hopeful that it can happen. Make no mistake about it I'm a huge fan but really believe the game and the draft have passed Ozzie by. But if by some chance Ozzie has a second wind and reinvents himself and starts to put together another string of elite defenses and good enough offense I'm all in. Besides I'm not sure how much more pain I can endure watching these blown leads and dysfunctional offenses over the past 10-15 years or so.
