  1. See a few Tucker FGs but not a W. Our D will be gassed by Stafford & Co in the 4th Q.
  2. Bingo ! Ahhh, the good old days; the Sock Dolager days .....
  3. Idk Max, I'd say Sam Koch and or Justin Tucker were the offensive MVP S last night
  4. Picked the right score 23-16; wrong victor. Not sure the better team won. Suggs' strip sack saved the game as the Texans could've easily won the game. Either way, last nights W, ugly as it was, is this team's blueprint from here on out until changes at the top are made. For what it's worth Matthew Stafford is going to go off on our defense this Sunday. If Tom Savage can run our D up-and-down the field, Matthew Stafford, even on a bad ankle, will have a field day.
  5. For what its worth, this team has lost after getting impressive wins vs Cleveland (blownout by Jax), Oakland (lose to Chicago), Miami (lose to Tenn). You see the trend. Plus, guys are puffing up their chest like we won the SB last week against AROD less Packers and talking this "our D is scary thing" again. Seen this horror picture a gazillion times before. Plus, I'm not sure this team is capable of back to back wins, even against Texans. Prediction, Texans - 23-16.
  6. Any thoughts; predictions ?
  7. Great piece Max ! Koch is a ringer
  8. Tsylvester, Hey, we win if we can win. Sure, we'll probably end up 8-8 ( + or - a W) would be 1 and done, even if we made POs. Still, how do you do otherwise ? Nobody's laying down for anybody, everybody wants to win Sunday. Look at the Giants on Sunday. At that same time, we need an sledgehammer RB and a game changer WR. If you're running the FO, you go after both. Its understood you trade up (maybe trade someone) but we need some damn weapons and this recycled FO WR/RB gig ain't cutting it. So....you do both - win and draft the best dang guy - at all costs. Imagine this team and defense (on the rise) with a RB Saquon Barkley and/or WR Calvin Ridley in the lineup next year. Crazy or unrealistic, its what this team needs to do to WIN !
  9. Max et al, I hate to beat an old drum but.......the day after we drafted Perriman, a friend at the gym told me we would regret the pick. I didn't think too much of this guys opinion - since he was a huge Giants fan and figured he was just messing with me. However, as it turns out, his son also played at UCF and he watched every home game and observed Perriman for at least 2 or 3 years. Other than having incredible speed, he seriously lacked in route running and, as has been reported ad nauseam, poor catching ability. I'm afraid to ask, "what in the heck were our scouts and Ozzie & Co thinking" ? More confirmation that Ozzie & Co aren't capable of drafting a solid WR and instead must acquire through free agency.
  10. Well Coach, at 5-5 (yes, just 5-5), you have an opportunity to go north of .500 Monday night against the Texans. And you say, we need to play winning football and "put that together and win football games". Well, lets see what you got !
  11. Playoffs???! Who said anything about playoffs ?
  12. Hey Max, if we play against Hundley type QBs & keep pitching shutouts - then we are fine !
  13. Whether he's let go in 2018 or 2019, they need to posture themselves for a franchise QB - either this Spring or in 2018 (absolute latest). After 6-7 straight years of mediocrity, everyone's going be to be chomping at bit for a new brand and winning program by 2020.

Max, that puts us at 8-8. The kings of mediocrity ! 8-8 is the kiss of death and keeps us in purgatory. We need to draft in the top 10 and snag a WR Calvin Ridley or RB Saquon Barkley type of talent; a game changer. Its nice to dream

Parity ? More like mediocrity which is where we are now. This article - about how we have to go 6-1 or 5-2 the rest of the way - comes out every year since we have been around or below .500 (the past 5 years). It's like deja vu all over again. For what's it worth, I'm in the camp that says the Packers and their rookie QB - and his 212 yards, 1 TD vs the Bears in Chicago - lights up our defense and Joe does Joe again, this time in Lambeau. I'm not feeling a W this Sunday.
  16. Except isn't Tucker our best player on O ?
  17. Missed the final score prediction by a last minute TD pass from Joe. Otherwise, it was exactly as suspected. No real predictive skill here; just a testimony to this team's predictability when it comes to performance, execution and mindset. I just cant understand how the Owner can sit idly by and watch this team generate what's has now become a standard 7-8 wins over the past 4-5 years. No game changers on offense or defense, no swagger, china dolls on both sides of the ball, no guys that "play like a raven", and constant rhetoric from the coach like, "our guys just have to play better", and player assertions like "our defense is going to be scary good this year". Been watching this team since its inaugural year of '96. Its the worst stretch I've seen the since the end of the Billick era. This team is in purgatory and its time to start fixing it. Sorry to be the Debbie Downer here but its frustrating as heck to watch. Its almost like being a Browns fan.
  18. No surprises here. We were who we thought we were.
  19. It's a rite of passage game for sure
  20. This team and its 2017 performance has been likened to Forrest Gump's Box of Chocolates. Are we getting the Ravens' dominant performance-ala Dolphins, Raiders or Bengals ? Or the dud performances like Jax and Minnesota ? Conventional wisdom and pundits predict another dud and a Titans victory. Others think we turned the corner after Dolphins game. I'm in the former camp and think we see a dud in Tennessee. Bad Joe returns and Collins get shut down. Titans 23-13
  21. True; but neither are any of the Niners.
  22. Thanks Max. Preston makes sense as do your comments. Still would like to a continuation of the younger guys in the secondary- so as to transition away from Webb, Weddle etc. Going in a positive direction on D, esp if we can secure another pass rushing LB, DL.
  23. I'd like to see Humphrey get some more reps at the other CB. And Jaylen Hill, too. I'd like to see Chuck Clark eventually get some reps at safety, instead of just ST. He's a rookie from Va Tech and is a thumper. He'd be a nice replacement for either Weddle or Jefferson. Secondary of Smith, Humphrey, Hill and Clark? that's the making of a good strong unit for years to come.
  24. It was nice to see the energy and substance that the D brought Thursday night. It'll be really interesting to see where they go from here ?
