Well said Max. A yeomans effort yesterday. Lets see where this goes - starting Sunday w Da Bears
-
I heard on NFL network that Carr is healing quickly but still out at least 2 weeks. Carr or Manuel, it wont matter. This team struggles mightily on the left coast.
-
Sounds about right - playing in the black hole and against a 2nd string QB

If the Biscuit is smart, he should secure a team - GM, HC et al - who have their collective fingers on the pulse of todays game and players - but also a vision for the future. Part of the problem - which was been discussed here ad nauseam - is how the game and players have seemingly passed by Ozzie and Co. No question that Ozzie was a great orchestrator and architect of our 2 SB teams - including drafting the JOs, Rays, Cmacs and Reeds of the 90s and 2000s. And for that, we are damn lucky to have witnessed those great teams including the 2000 team which sported the best defense I've ever seen. Unfortunately, there are no more Rays and JOs from the last few decades. And the Bama players- while dominant at the collegiate level - aren't necessarily NFL game changers - sans Julio Jones. The point - whoever and when ever Biscuit selects, the next FO - GM/HC/OCs - needs to establish a newer, different culture of winning and success. The next regime needs to be adept at identifying/finding talented professionals for the todays (and even tomorrow's) game. Its a rapidly evolving game and a team/culture is needed to find, train, groom and grow these future players into a long term winning program. Central to this is having the right FO and HC who together will identify and locate the right franchise QB - a 2020-2030 prototype NFL athlete who can successfully lead this team for a decade or more. These are huge, but necessary, challenges if our team is to succeed. It may take a few years, maybe more, but I believe this owner can meet the challenges and re-invent this organization with a newer, long tem winning culture. But it needs to start; the sooner the better.

Its not happening now but it will later. When ? Beats me but..... We had our last run in 2013; downhill since. No offense, makeshift OL, 0 running attack, etc.... Go back to 2008 formula - new head coach/ OC, draft a new QB - 2018 prototype QB - franchise RB - like Saquon Barkley. We've had 5 years to fix it. Time to get it right. Time for Oz to step down. He's had a helluva run - 2 SBs - great teams. Need a fresh approach, better offensive minds, in touch with today's players. How about drafting ONE playmaker on offense or defense? Start now. Bite the bullet. The window is opening again. New England is trending downward - Brady is in the league 1-2 years max. Ben's 1-2 yrs max from being done, too. Start it up in 2018, find the right OC/Coach, fix QB problem by drafting Joes replacement and give him comp in 2018; replace him 2019. Do this and get ready to compete by 2020. Time to build this team for a championship; not to strive for the playoffs at a 9-7 record. Don't do this, watch the team hang around .500 for eternity. I'm tired of watching barely "good enough to lose" games and perennial .500 play since 2013.

Unless we draft QB in 1st; we get this guy. Since drafting No 31 in 2000, we haven't had a true sledgehammer; a franchise runner. We get this gut while fixing the rest of offensive mess.

Good stuff Papa. Didn't know you had such a good sense of humor . Are you a closet walking dead fan ? -

It would be interesting to see a team by team analysis of drafted players and incidence of injuries - minor, significant and season ending - since Harbs took the reins ca. 10 years ago. Are we at the high end, middle or bottom ? Perhaps one of our savvy strategic posters has some thoughts ? -
Its way too early but come Spring 2018, I want this dude in our backfield !!!! https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwitvsazmLnWAhVH-2MKHRHnDucQFghSMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2F247sports.com%2FPlayer%2FSaquon-Barkley-35574&usg=AFQjCNHi8Kd1LHjq-NK-L3vhEC_pN46V1g.

When is he due to come back ? Is it after week 6 or next season ?
-
Love the diverse perspective here. I'm between VMAX/Crav and TSY on my view/forecast of the team. Win total looks slightly north or south of .500 - depending on the injuries/health/performance. FWIW-not that anyone comments on my opinion on this exclusive board (sure miss good ole Sock; may he RIP) - here are my thoughts: Defense - has been lights out, fast as all get out, and opportunistic. Adjustments needed for the big chunk plays and loss of Brandon. Offense - mildly surprised with Joe and the RBs play. Wonder about the loss and makeup for Yanda. WRs need to step up and Joe needs to continue his progress. ST- Awesome so far. Tucker may be key on Sunday and throughout the season, esp down the stretch.

Tucker time at Wembley on Sunday ?

Geez, with all this delightful news, I'm surprised we don't have "Bridge over troubled waters" playing in the background. -
Crav, no major damage in New Smyrna. Power is still out there and Ormond Beach. He has lots of yard debris and landscaping work to do. Transportation wise, he avoided I-95 and took A1A from Jax to NSB.
-
Crav, it sounds like you fared okay from Irma. My brother just returned today to New Smyrna Beach and will be assessing damage to his place - which hopefully will be minimal.
-
Woodrum is back in the flock ? Nice. I still think that kid has a shot. Too bad we didn't retain Smoke Mizzelle too.
-
Hmmmm. Could use another RB while Woodhead heals. Too bad we released Smoke Mizzell

Like a W, a shutout is a shutout is a shutout. Nice work D !
