  1. Exactly, the guys 'lack of downfield threat' is completely overblown. WR screens are something I have been begging Harbaugh (from my couch) to use, but now with Boldin he has to implement them. It's a great play when you have a guy like Boldin, worst case scenario is a 3 yard gain and Flacco improves his rhythm with the completions.
  2. Either way, we can find a great player for that kind of money, I feel like they overpaid Bannan a little because our defense made him look great (even though I loved his play). Remember how cheap we got him for a few years ago from Buffalo?
  3. TO is very close to Boldin in skillset, but he isn't as good anymore. I definitely am not wishing for him to sign in the AFC North though, that's playing with fire.
  4. Yeah, it sucks, but he wasn't a starter for us and now they are paying him starter money, which means now we can offer another UFA basically as much money as Bannan is getting in his deal, right?
  5. I can't believe Walter signed for that cheap! I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm now content with our WR core, and it's the 2nd day of Free Agency. Stallworth still has his speed, and was signed to a bid deal just a few years ago. Now we add Boldin, who I absolutely love. The guy will force us to implement WR Screens, which I have been wanting for YEARS, and is a fantastic run blocker, which is really an underrated skill. I'd be content bringing back Kelley Wash, Clayton and DWill now and just hoping one of them steps up to be the #3 guy.
  6. 28 years old and we all remember the horrific injury. The fact that multiple people actually believe Willis McGahee is a top 10 back all of the sudden is the biggest display of homerism I have ever seen on this board. Willis in my opinion wasn't even that good on the goal-line, he got stuffed often, which probably wouldn't have happened with McClain, who never goes down from the first tackler. I guarantee if you polled players in the nfl, scouts, or even fans of the top RB's, that McGahee would not SNIFF the top ten, he flat out isn't even close to being that good.
  7. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/blog/2010/03/report_arizona_only_wants_thirdround_pick_for_boldin.html Boldin can be had for a 3rd rounder. How about Marshall for a 2nd and Boldin for a 3rd!
  8. Touchdowns are a worthless stat if they are all from inside the 5 yard line. I could've gotten 10 TD's from the spots Willis got the ball and the holes our offensive line gave him. Saying he's top 10 is absolutely hilarious. If you were to say that to anyone involved in the league, you would get laughed out of the room. Willis has absolutely lost his legs and the only reason he was halfway effective was because he barely had to carry the ball so his legs were fresh. Realistically, he's probably a top 30 RB, but what teams would you see him starting on? The Chargers want to trade Cromartie because he wants big money and played poorly in last seasons playoffs, but he would immediately be our best corner, and theres no arguing that.
  9. Anyone who honestly believes McGahee is worth more then Cromartie needs to go to a doctor immediately because that is fucking insane. RB's are plentiful, let alone RB's with McGahee's below average skills. Add in that he has a shitty contract, and I'd consider us lucky to be rid of him. Cromartie might not be a tackler, but neither was Deion Sanders. The guy is fantastic in coverage and I would kill to bring him in. We actually could, GASP, blitz effectively again. I also don't think we need McGahee. I'd rather bring in a FB in Free Agency or the Draft and move back to McClain as the backup HB and goalline/short yardage RB. People have already forgotten how great he was 2 years ago in that role.
  10. I've read that the Colts also are very interested in Gaither, and they will have to follow the same rules as Dallas. We of course would match that offer at 5.3 million, so I wouldn't have a problem keeping Gaither at that price point or even working out a trade where we receive more then a 1st rounder if a team really wants him,.
  11. I would absolutely kill to have this guy on our team, if they tendered him a 1st rounder we can definitely work a sign and trade involving a 2nd rounder and some other piece.
  12. This is off-topic but with Cromartie on the block what does everyone think about going after him in a trade? San Diego needs RB's and is looking to deal him so would they be interested in McGahee and a 2nd rounder? I sure would be.
  13. Yes, I do. Did you hear a peep out of him last year in Buffalo? No. The guy knows his years are limited and he seems to finally be maturing at the fine age of 36. We now have a QB that can get him the ball, and a team that can win a championship, so I believe he wouldn't be a problem. Of course, it is TO, so I guess anything can happen.
  14. If we can sign T.O. to a cheap, incentive-laden deal, then I'm all for it. Having TO, Mason, Stallworth, and a draft pick next year would set us up to have an explosive offense. Anyone who doesn't think TO still has it clearly hasn't seem him play lately. Yes, he's old, but he is one of the best athletes I have ever seen in my life, hands down.
  15. It doesn't rule out a trade necessarily. The Chargers are making some weird moves this offseason, I don't see anything good for them next year.
  16. Rice even needed a year to make an impact, so yeah, as long as we can see him on the field for at least 12 games, it's a no-brainer.
  17. Thousands of people die each year as they jaywalk a highway and get killed by a drunk driver? Whodathunkit. This is an EXTREMELY rare scenario, we need to stop treating it like it's simply a DUI or simply an accidental death. In actuality, it was stupidity from both parties, and both were unlucky enough to have their lives changed for the good as a result.
  18. I agree completely. While I don't know whether Stallworth's conscience is cleared, I certainly know that I would never have a clear conscience after such an event. All you can do is hope is moving on, as it was not completely his fault, yet the burden still falls solely on him.
  19. Correct. Ain't too shabby.
  20. I would honestly be very satisfied with a WR corps of Boldin, Stallworth and Mason. That group provides a little bit of everything and would be one of the most balanced groups in the league. I would give a 2nd rounder for Boldin, but not a first.
  21. http://www.denverpost.com/broncosheadlines/ci_14441207?source=rss This really could explain his behavior issues while in Denver and really gives me hope he can be a good teammate and potential Raven
  22. I understand your attitude on drunk driving completely, but this situation is not just about Stallworth's BAC. He wasn't completely at fault if a guy runs across what is essentially a highway, and that's all I care about. I honestly feel bad for him (as well as the guy that died, obviously) that he has been put in this situation because some idiot runs across the road at night.
  23. We aren't 'lucky' when we don't run somebody over driving, Stallworth was EXTREMELY unlucky, and that's about it. He isn't a bad guy, he got unlucky once and has paid dearly for it. The fact that multiple people are calling him a 'killer' is simply absurd.
  24. I don't consider someone driving down a highway and having an idiot run across in front of your car a 'bona-fide killer', but we can agree to disagree I guess.
  25. I LOVE this move. Extremely low risk at that price, especially considering in 2008 the Browns gave him a 7 Year- $35 Million dollar deal. He has great speed as everyone knows, which is definitely something that was lacking in our offense last year. He fucked up, but I don't completely blame him for the situation he was in, I mean the guy he killed ran across the road at night and it wasn't at a crosswalk. Donte has done his time and suffered severe consequences, so I have no ill-will towards him.
