Wouldn't it be possible to front-load contracts so that most of the cap hit came in this uncapped year and put us at a cap advantage in the future. I know in the NBA a few players (Kirk Hinrich comes to mind) have frontloaded deals, so it should be possible in the NFL.

Though there is no WR there, you have to love Taylor Mays. This kid was the talk of the NCAA last year, but had an off year this year. He is a freak athlete with great knowledge of the game. I would love to have him on this roster at SS for a year or two and learning from Ed to take over for him soon. I definitely want to focus on WR in the draft and FA, but I'm not sure what the WR prospects are like in the draft, so I would be perfectly happy to end up with Mays.

Exactly. If Revis' play has taught anyone anything it should be that having a shutdown corner that allows you to blitz and still help out on the other side is the 2nd most valuable thing to have next to a stud QB.

We absolutely need a WR who can stretch the field consistently. Pair a guy like that with Mason, and we will be fine. And yes, I also noticed Rice wearing down this year, he dropped and fumbled a lot at the end of the year. We need to get McClain more involved in the power game and keep Rice fresher. If we can do that, and just add a weapon at WR, I like this offense a lot.

Seriously we should go with Smith in the 2nd half. Flacco is clearly not himself and I think Smith would be the better pure QB option right now as the cold affects Flacco's injury even more. Add to that that Smith can run the option and is a run threat on pass plays and it's clear we should bring him in.
