Seattle is in clear rebuild mode with that young team (see Josh Miller trade) and wanted to give younger players a shot at playing time. I was interested that they couldn't find a trading partner, but probably just nobody that wanted to pay him $7 Million a year. He caught 79 balls for 900 yards with Seattles crap talent last year, he's got plenty of steps left in that body.

We need our depth at WR to also play special teams though, we couldn't afford to carry that many WR's.

Important to keep in mind that Seattle owed him $7 Million this year and whatever he got elsewhere (855,000 in this case) would simply subtract from what they owe him, so he is still technically making 7 Million. Basically, money didn't matter at all to him as a result. I had never heard about him being a distraction, but it's funny in the ESPN article conversation now all the Bengal fans hating on our signing are saying he's a locker room distraction. Guess we'll just have to see.

I obviously think we hosed them, but looking more into it, Wilson is going to be a Free Agent at years end, and Seattle is in clear rebuilding mode, so a draft pick was obviously the best thing for them to get. Luckily for us I guess, a 5th that could turn into a 4th was the best offer....

Cut for cut my ass. Two days after Ravens cut CB Doug Dutch, Washington signs QB John Beck to two-year, $2.25M extension. The trade for Miller makes up for this, but Beck had way better value than we got for him.

Kid looks tough for a small guy too, makes some hard tackles and doesn't go down easy on KR's in this highlight. Yes, I know its a highlight, but unless the guy regressed heavily last year, he looks like he can definitely contribute to this team.
