  1. I think the adjectives 'demoralizing' and 'catastrophic' are more in line.
  2. Good post, Tsyl. Agree with most of what you said. I think the following sunk the Ravens last night: 1) O-line is a disaster. Did they rush Stanley back? And if they hadn't who else was there to start?? Nobody. 2) Villanueva ought to do the honorable thing and retire. He's made enough money and shown us Nothing. 3) Still, as bad as the offense was at times, the defense lost the game for us. 27 shoulda been enough to beat down the Raiders. 4) Hold off on bringing up the dump truck for Lamar's next contract. Wasn't all his fault by any means but the fumbles were sickening. 5) What happens to Proche in games? Did he even play last night? 6) I don't think the Raiders are all that good. I hope I'm wrong on that and they play lights out the rest of the year but how many times did they shoot themselves in the foot in an effort to give us the game? And wasn't that nice of us to return the favors? 7) Somebody puh-leeze can the ESPN broadcasting team. That's all I can say right now. When I re-live the game, it makes me sick all over again.
  3. Well, I haven't heard it or read it since Lamar freshened up the team.
  4. I'm buyin' on that one.
  5. Holy crap! I'm getting fired up too! Lets go beat these bastards and here's hoping the team is in the same mood!!
  6. Schematics can be left to the assistants and coordinator. What the major factor here is team psyche and he's always been a good salesman.
  7. Gee! Mike Preston (??) to the rescue: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/preston/bs-sp-mike-preston-ravens-fans-dont-panic-20210909-jqqbbasucrb4nmg7lhhrmyfpde-story.html
  8. They won't fear the wreckage of our running game so they'll drop more guys into pass coverage. Look for a lot of Raiders dropping into coverage. So sickening this happened. Still, if there's 2 guys who can pull this out it's probably Lamar and Harbs.
  9. Well, that's nice that he's confident but confidence can't prevent injuries. We need a legitimate 3rd back and Bell is not the answer. If Edwards goes down, we're toast.
  10. It would have been nice if Jimmy Irsay had taken Model's offer of $1 million to give us the naming rights of Colts but alas it didn't happen. So far as retiring the name, the NFL missed that boat when they agreed to the move to Indy. And, I have to admit, the Cleveland fans fought harder and better than us in keeping their naming rights.
  11. I'm surprised out of my shoes on this one. Shoot, take a chance on a younger guy, dammit!
  12. Either one sounds like a great pickup.
  13. Agree. Appropriate contract for him. Good move!
  14. Top 5.
  15. I think our D will come to the rescue of a very rusty offense missing a major weapon or two. I hope Stanley's ankle holds up. Ravens 16 Raiders 13.
  16. Tarkenton ran a lot when he was young but transformed into a very capable pocket quarterback. Same with Steve Young. Your body just ages, it's a fact of life. I don't think you can successfully being a running quarterback much beyond 4-5 years in the league.
  17. That line says it all. They will go all out to knock him out of a game and the league if he becomes that scary. I remember years and years ago, John Unitas was hurt and the sub, a promising player, Gary Cuozzo was playing with a hurt shoulder. The Opposing Defensive Coach was yelling at his players 'Go after that shoulder!' Such is life in the NFL.
  18. The thing is, there has not been a successful running quarterback in the NFL who has had a long career running downfield. There have been many successful pocket passers who get injured and come back to have long careers but not any I can think of who were running quarterbacks who got injured and returned to play well as a pocket passer if they weren't successful being a pocket passer before they got hurt. That's why I want to see them transform Lamar into a pocket passer predominantly. Otherwise he could go down with an injury and never make it back. I think Lamar has the smarts, coolness under fire, and arm to be a very good pocket passer and the team has an obligation to convert him into a guy who stays in the pocket first and runs only out of desperation.
  19. Losing Mason while keeping Boykin was not a smart move. Max, I saw that video on TV...cracked me up too!
  20. Who wrote the article?
  21. I wonder who the sacred 4 will be.
  22. And the answer is...???
  23. I like what they've done there! Glad they got McSorely back but he should be on the 53.
  24. Are we really going to go with only 2 qb's (who run a lot)? Guess so but it makes me uncomfortable.
  25. I guess they think his downfield blocking is worth keeping even if he can't get open enough. Sorry to see McSorely cut. He still deserves a chance to try out behind the '1's somewhere. Would've cut Justice Hill and kept McCrary or, even better, Mason.
