A Summary of Where the Ravens Are at This Point

Yeah, I agree. The secondary as a group seems injury prone now. We thought we had a deep secondary last year and still got skunked. -

Should we have kept him then? -

I agree that he is good enough to play in spots. I don't know why he didn't stay here unless they offered him more money and more playing time. Anybody know what he got and what we were offering? Maybe he wanted to play as a #1 and he's not worth that. -

Well it could be that this year in particular we have so many holes to fill in the draft that they don't want to use up one for a temporary RB. I know you can always grab one as late as the 3rd round but there may be better uses when the 3rd comes up. It's all about having options. -

Well, Hill can go...I think Gordon would be for insurance if either of the regular backs needs more time...I don't think it means, I hope not anyway, that JK and Gus are done. -
Completely understandable for him to stay put rather than make a nation wide trip for the same money. This is no fault of the Ravens.

We could also get a Super Bowl or 2.

Yeah I was and still am in favor of a dome. Missed a big opportunity there. Now the stadium is only used for about 10-15 dates a year.

Three Year Extension for Papa's favorite coach!!!
oldno82 replied to GrubberRaven's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Wow! Just look at we have to look forward to with Papa! On the other hand, Papa, look at it this way. After next year it's only a 2-yr deal. If Bisciotti feels it's time for Harbs to go, he can afford to just fire him. -
Yeah. Good point.
-
Sounds like he got a better deal with the Vikes. I don't know if he's still worth 14/year. Pretty risky for Minnesota. We shall see.
-
Yeah, it's nice to get some positive news for a change.
-
The bizarre thing is he was so heavily involved in the community. Something must have happened during negotiations that turned him way off.
-
Geez...he settled for chump change in today's NFL. I don't get it.

Whoa! I didn't know about the back injury. I kind of loss track of him last year but I knew he had become a badass pass rusher for the Packers. But back injuries are tricky things and might mean he can't play. I'm hoping now they're doing a series of thorough physical examinations of him. However, he is just 29. If he's healthy it could still be a good signing. Time will tell. Also do we know the details of the contract? All I've heard is $35 mill for 5(?) years. Maybe it's loaded with incentives?

This just in: https://www.nfl.com/news/za-darius-smith-ravens-ex-packers-pass-rusher-returning-four-year-35m-contract. So Zadarius comes back home. He'll be 30 in September but I think he's still got some gas left in the tank. If he does we've just improved our pass rush and can still address it in draft. I'm liking what I've seen so far in free agency for the the Ravens. Didn't expect this much activity.

Well that's unanimous good news from you guys on Moses. With him and the new safety things are looking up. -

OK...guys, what's the background on Moses? He's certainly big enough for road grading and he's been available practically every season w/o being hurt. -
I like the signing and he should be a valuable addition. Finally, the right guy to play there. Now could we get some O-ine help, please? Or are we waiting on the draft for that?

Damn! I didn't remember that play by Phillips. I like the way he holds on to the ball and uses his locked around the ball arms to blow tacklers away! -
Definitely a game and night to remember! The Mile High Miracle in that game too! Joe's best run of games ever.
-
Bingo!
-
They'll probably drop down to last place then begin to recoup their losses but it will take quite a while to recover. On another note...I would really like to see the Ravens make an attempt to get Von Miller. Any ideas on that?

'Buying' a championship is short-sighted emphasis on win now and screw the future. Perhaps some teams do it to generate interest in a dissatisfied fan base, but it will only work for a year or two and then what? It should come around to bite them in the ass.

I don't think so but here's a counter argument: https://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/analysis/preston/bs-sp-preston-ravens-all-in-quarterback-deals-20220310-upeeezq54fca3ech3763stgbnu-story.html.
