Here's todays statements from Ray.... I heard Preston on the radio this morning and he said this will unify the team and put the Ravens "over the top". They will be one angry, focused, intense team when they hit the field Sunday night. He said it's just what they needed and they will come out with that nasty Ravens "Us against the World" mentality.

One of the huge keys will be the ability of the Ravens to run the ball. That runs right into the 49'ers strength...stopping the run. If the Ravens can't run, then the 49er can stay in their base defense. The safeties will stay deep and make it hard on Joe. The front 4 can tee off on him. I don't see the 49'ers changing their defense from what has been successfull all year. Now...the 49'ers had the #4 rush D. Denver had the #3 rush D and Rice ran for 131 on them.

Despite the nasty weather there are already a ton of Ravens fans at the Inner Harbor. Everybody is dressed up in their Ravens gear and I've never seen such variety and combinations. It's terrific. I heard they had to add flights to New Orleans for Ravens fans and that they are turning the town purple. Catch the Spirit!!! This is so awesome....the team is actually leaving for the Super Bowl following the pep rally. Remember the last time when a team bus grazed a police cruiser leaving the Harbor for BWI? The excitement feels like 2001....oh...12 years ago today the Ravens won the Super Bowl.

Joe will have all day to throw. The Ravens win if Joe plays like he has in the playoffs. I think he will. Suddenly Kaepernick discovered that he has a TE who is pretty good...damn good. UMD Veron Davis.They were using him to block on the runs all season...then they woke up. He's big, fast, physical and has good hands. He's a playmaker. The Ravens have to limit him. If it comes down to field goals...and it could...here comes Akers who "Cundiff's" every game. I worry about the 49'ers run game the most. They had over 400 yards rushing in the playoffs....so did Rice and Pierce. Anyway...can the Ravens stop the run and can they run on the 49'ers which everybody finds hard to do. Finally...both teams are physical, smashmouth football teams...this will be like playing the Steelers. The Ravens like the Dome...
