Justice was done for J.O as the first pick of the the new Ravens franchise in the 1996 draft. He heard the news while in New Orleans with the Ravens at their second Super Bowl appearance. We knew he should make it in on the first ballot, but until that happens you never know for sure. He really made it look easy blocking the NFL's best pass rushers because he was so physically gifted. J.O. had the drive to maximize his talents and set the highest standard of excellence for himself. He was one of the games great technicians. He was a "Gentile Giant" off the field but a fierce and firey competitor on it. Earning a Super Bowl ring tops off an outstanding career.

Everywhere you go people are wearing purple, cars are flying Ravens flags, and the atmosphere is full of excitement, anticipation and community unity. The company where I work encouraged all employees to wear their Ravens gear to work and show their Ravens Pride. They took a company photo at noon of everybody cheering. I am have a ball while doing the normal houshold shopping. While pumping gas I see a stranger in Ravens gear and say "Go Ravens!" Their face just lights up and we talk. I'm doing it with many people...total strangers. Food shopping at the Giant was....so damn much fun! OK...the store was about 80% women...half were wearing Ravens gear. All the cashiers were in Ravens garb. The walls were decked with Ravens banners. Every 2-3 minutes over the store loudspeaker somebody would yell "Go Ravens!' People were laughing and cheering in the aisles. I'm waiting line at the register and a women in her 60's, with a cane, says "I can do the Ray Lewis dance. Wanna see me?" Everybody says "Yes." So se sets down her cane and does a damn good rendition to the crowds applause. It's about pulling people, communities, the City and State together. Just like 2000. I love it.

This is a very good article with one flaw; Kevin comes off as if he's going to give some astounding revelation. This Ravens team is loaded with leaders as were the past Ravens teams. All are important and play a role. Now this might be a big revelation for fans who causally follow football and have a limited understanding of the game. Blame the media who covers this sport and all sports for this. They only give you one or two names of players on a team. Patriots? = Brady. Denver? = Manning. Vikings? = Peterson. Go down the line and only if your are a passionate follower of this sport will you be able to names other key players The media only talks about the star players. Take PTI for example. They constantly focus on the few big names in their respective sports and talk about them ad nauseum. Tiger, LeBron, Kobe, ...you can't find out about the other important players in those sports. I don't follow the NBA so I can only tell you a few of the big names from what I hear on ESPN and the radio. It's like everybody else is irrelevent. Mainstrean sports journalism waters down the truth that this is a team sport and you can only win as a team. It leaves fans like us to the task to search dilligently to find information on the whole team....which we do. It is out there...you just have to look harder and be selective in who you read.

He's hurt that his pre season and all season pick of the Bengals to win the division flopped. He was all over them hype-ing them up all season. He looked stupid after the opening day 44-13 win by the Ravens over the Bengals. He's a documented Raven hater so he kept making the Ravens look like a lesser football team.
