It's called Masterfull Trolling. Hang around everyday...disagree with everyone....enjoy getting people bent out of shape....lay a turd in every thread... I think having a contrary point of view is good for the board...but not every day on every topic.

Coincidences between the 2000 Ravens and 2012 Ravens
vmax replied to vmax's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Here's a few players from a "Where are they now?" article on the 2000 Ravens... -
The Ravens players gave credit to their head coach for the run to the Super Bowl. John Harbaugh emphasized Monday that he wanted the focus to be on his players leading up to the Super Bowl, not on him and his brother. But veteran Ravens players put the spotlight right back on Harbaugh, crediting him with the Ravens' run to the Super Bowl. “I think he’s a special kind of coach,” center Matt Birk said. “I really do – special kind of person, just the way that he connects with players as a group, but also on an individual level.” “One thing I’ve said about coach Harbaugh, I take my hat off to him,” safety Bernard Pollard added. “The last few weeks, we can’t even express how happy we are for him and just for this organization.” “He humbled himself,” safety Ed Reed said. “He knows what day I’m talking about – the bye week – to really listen to his players. … It was just something we had to go through as men and understand each other and understand the process together.” “We had a mid-season thing,” Harbaugh added. “One thing about our guys, we like our guys talking things out and confronting issues. We’ve been doing that throughout the course of the season and it’s pushed us so close as a football team. I think you’re seeing the results of that right now.” “You’ve got to tie him in with Joe,” linebacker Ray Lewis said. “They kind of came in together and we’ve been to, what, three AFC championships? A lot of them we could’ve won, but it just wasn’t our time. But I think that the growing that he did with his team, the way he grew with us and the way that we understand and we respect each other and the conversations that we have as men, that’s what I applaud him the most about.” “For everything we’ve been through since Coach Harbaugh got here,” Reed said, “he had a vision of working us a certain way and taking us through something to build something and to create this moment. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Players-Give-Credit-To-John-Harbaugh/0b631219-3229-4cec-abff-fb909280f2db

I'll be wearing my white #52 jersey...same one that I wore on that great day in 2001. It's old...but has at least one more day left in it.
-
No...it's not a volitile issue...most people are for that. OK...it's good to see that this doesn't bother prople here....like it's no big deal. I hope it goes over that way. We'll see. I hope the Ravens can avoid distracting controversey this week and next...no arrests...late curfew violations...this upcomming game is way too important.

Just like 2001... When the Ravens head back to the Super Bowl Feb. 3, they will be sporting their white jerseys in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Ravens also wore the white jerseys when they won the Lombardi Trophy in 2001, the only other time the franchise has played in a Super Bowl. The difference this year is that the Ravens will go with black pants, while they wore the white pants the last time. Baltimore has gone with the white jersey, black pants combo the last two weeks of the playoffs, picking up wins over the Broncos and the Patriots. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Check-Out-Super-Bowl-XLVII-Jerseys/40c4e189-58d4-44de-920e-cef74e28b232

I have no problem with gays getting married. I have a problem with this issue being associated with the Ravens during Super Bowl week because, like I said, it's highly volitile and polarizing nationally. They do not need this distraction...it's a big one. The media can turn it into a big story .... They may...hopefully they won't...but they are searching hard for a gay football player to come out of the closet and while I don't know if Ayambadejo is gay...what happens Super Bowl week if he is and comes out? Headlines. He's the story...not the Baltimore Ravens. He should stay quiet on this Super Bowl week and then talk about it all he wants after the game. There will be a ton of "fires"...some big like the Ray Lewis Atlanta murders...many small like a player boasting ect....there will be enough distractions.
-
This selfish jerk is about to create a huge distraction for his team as they try to prepare to win a Super Bowl. Same sex marriage is a volitile and polarizing issue nationally, so it will be a great distraction for this team. The last thing that they need. All he cares about is himself...certainly not about Holliday who ran past him twice for TD's....certainly not his team, whom he burdened with his disparaging remarks about the Patriots before that game. The Ravens do not need a player like this. They never had a T.O., but they have one now.

Joe Plantania has compiled a long list ( I mean long!)of coincidences between the 2000 Ravens and 2012 Ravens.....here's just a few.... For me, there is one important similarity between the 2 teams. There is an abundance of fundamentally sound players, characters and key contributers. It's a long list of names...just like 2000...which tells me this is a deep, solid team. Rice, Flacco, Boldin, Torry Smith, Pita, McKinnie, Birk, Yanda, Leach Pierce, Jacoby Jones, Oher (on the right.. ) Lewis, Reed, Ngata, Williams, Graham, Pollard, Suggs, and 2 great kickers in Koch and Tucker.

Joe's making the most of the playoffs this year. He's making his mark... http://espn.go.com/blog/afcnorth/post/_/id/64191/joe-flacco-closing-in-on-joe-montana

The Baltimore Ravens are in the Super Bowl. One of the reasons it's taking so long for this to "sink in" for me is due to how weak and inconsistent this team was for a majority of the season. The 3 game losing streat to Pittsburgh, Washington and Denver was the low point. In the game before that losing streak, the Ravens needed the miracle 4th and 29 play from Ray Rice to beat the Chargers. At that point you'd have to say they were the weakest 9-2 team that you ever saw. Then came the losing streak and all my experience as a Ravens fan told me that they would back into the playoffs and promptly get knocked out. Then can the Giants game...Caldwells 2nd as OC...33-14 win over a team that was fighting for it's playoff life. Suddenly this was a different Ravens team. The offense was lights out. The defense was terrific. I knew something had changed....I couldn't quite see that this was the beginning of an amazing turn around in the team. At this point I felt like felt like "Ok, maybe they won't be one and done but there's Houston, Denver and New England in the way." That's a tall order. One serious mountain to climb. And the climbed it! The Colts game told me this was no fluke turnaround and for some reason I felt confident going into Denver. I knew they wouldn't back down or fold against New England, but I thought it would take a ton of Ravens points to out duel the NFL's highest scoring offense...#3 all time. So the D shuts them out for the second half! 13 points. I don't know squat. I'm just one happy, excited Ravens fan along for the ride. What I see is one big roster loaded with special players and they are going all out. They believe in each other and their mission. Just like the 2000 Team.
-
We're back in the Time Machine and the Ravens are going to the Super Bowl!
-
The D has been a key factor in helping this team to the Super Bowl... The offense struggled in the first half and battled poor field position at Foxborough, but the D kept the team in the game. It could have got out of hand in the closing minutes....even early in the 3rd quarter....but they held strong. They have one more big test.

Try again!

LOL! Husband took her credit cards.

I think if the Ravens win then he'll retire. Go out on top

They were plowing the field and planting Patriots... Finally Joe has time to find his receivers. It wasn't Good Joe/Bad Joe. It was Joe with no time or Joe's receivers not getting open....and during all that, Good Joe did not become a turnover machine trying to force things. So the Ravens won more than they lost. The goal is always to win and Joe stuck to that in a smart, heady controlled way.
