yea...kinda like Pittsburgh....ahhh Pittsburgh! The memories.... Now we have to stop this!....this is a serious thread...I have to figure out who to vote for.
-
This is generally a close game and it's their Super Bowl. Factor in how the team has performed recently and on the road and it will be a close score. If the offense lays an egg in the 1st quarter and keeps the crowd in the game, then it's going to be a long day.

That was nice! Good find.

Watch...the margin of victory will be so slight that it will come down to the votes of these two fine West Virginia citizens.... Let me get serious again. The two party system is a liability for this country. It no longer works for the highest good for everyone involved. If you are not a democrat or republican, then you have no shot at the Presidency.....uh....no chance to be President... I'm voting for Obama because the polls are so tight. Otherwise I'd vote for anybody who's not a Democrat or Republican. Papa...you make a good point...I'm in Maryland and it will go for Obama so maybe I should rethink this and vote for "Anybody Else".

I know my phone and computer are tapped! They have been trying to get me for years because I have knowledge of things they are not wanting you to know! Should they get me, I'll just tell them that I'm the Leader of the Ant Men and Destroyer of Worlds! I'm an Inverted Dolphin! Check my drivers license fools!

I don't want either of them to be in charge during these times, but it's clearly a lesser of 2 evils in my mind. No way can I vote for Romney. He'll have us drilling oil and burning coal which is like putting a bandaid on a mortal wound. Going Green is the future or we'll have no future. It will create a whole new sector of long time employment and technology that this country can capitalize on. We can't wait...the planet can't wait 4 more years while Romney enriches his oil and coal pals. This has to take off now. There's no quick fix for this economy, but a change in direction with an eye on what the world needs will end up being the quickest path to financial strength. I can shoot a ton of holes in Obama's policy.. Nothing impresses me in Romney. The other candidates have no shot. I think we can survive Obama's weaknesses but not Romney's. No more is it a priveledge to vote in America. It's agony. It's a damn shame that out of a Nation of millions, with all our weath and fine education, we end up with such weak choices in a time of dire need.

The Ravens offense didn't score in the second half of the Browns game....and that was here...at home. I want to see solid, fundamental Ravens football Sunday. and I want to see this...
-
There's no hiding that this Ravens team is hanging on by their teeth, so this is the Brownies big chance to take down the Ravens. They beat the Chargers at home and, as we know, the Ravens are Mr. Hyde on the road...or Rosie O'Donnell. Yea...things can get worse. Everybody's running on the Ravens....and throwing. Why not the Browns? That's how bad it is. On the ohter hand...this can be a get healthy game for the Ravens. 2 Keys: 1. The offense has to convert on 3rd down. That will extend drives and help get them in rythmn. It will give the defense a blow and change the drastic loss in time of possesion this team has created. 2. The defense has to hold on 3rd down and get off the field. They have to give the ball to the offense.

It was scary last night. The power's still on so the pump is running and we have heat...yea. There's a 35' tree laying on my neighbors house 2 doors up but all my trees are still standing. Might escape this one ok but the State is totally hammered as you know.
-
Crav...the storm center is going to come in right over your old house.
-
We're going to get hammered for 48 hours....no let up. I don't remember anything like this ever happening. Marty says the power will start going off around 5-6 pm.
-
Is everybody ready? This is going to be one for the records books. I basicly spent all day Saturday tightening up the house. Here's the lastest from our Govenor: It's turning a little further south that expected and the center will hit closer to Baltimore than expected....basiclly wee're almost dead center in the storms track. The storm is intensifing. It could actually hit us as a catagory 2 hurricane. He said people will die in this storm. Stay indoors. They are calling for over 7" of rain as this storm will "park" over Maryland. With that much saturation, tree will be going down everywhere and massive power outages are comming. The power crews can't work in winds over 25 mph so expect to be without power for days. The earliest that power resotoration will start is Wednesday. This is going to be one rough ride folks.

"Did you step on your tongue?"

They look like homo's.

Yea but..there's good history and bad history. In this case, history says there's a reason that the Steelers didn't stick with this style.
-
Right now I'm hearing landfall in Deleware or New Jersey....that means we get all the rain. They're calling it "Frankenstorm"
-
I was hoping this was all hype like most of the weather forecast dramas. But....Hurricane Sandy is going to hit us as one bad MoFo Nor'easter.... Gear Up!

Other than having the best opening intro/theme song....10 times better than Sunday Night Football (so lame) and Monday Night football...Thursday Night football is a bad idea for fans and players. Fans have to get up early for work. Most of us don't have jobs where we don't have to be in untill 10 in the morning. Players are not physically recoved. Coaches don't have the time to install proper game plans. And the visitor is almost guaranteed to lose...
-
The defense, to a degree, has an excuse: injuries, raid on coaches, no high draft picks, no big free agent splashes. But the offense? No excuse. Coaching? No excuse. Belicheat isn't God, but he could make a Super Bowl winner out of this roster. Coughlan too.
-
He and Joe were one droped pass away from the Super Bowl. Just scrap the no huddle for road games. Bottom line: If the D can't get a 3 and out....which they can't....the offense just sits on the bench getting cold. Yea....Cam gave up on the run way too early. Sundays game plan was bad IMO.

Good points by Eisenberg... Smoke and mirrors ain't working.

NFL morning after: It’s the Texans and everyone else in the AFC
vmax replied to papasmurfbell's topic in NFL General
I know...and last year it was the the Packers who only lost 12 regular season game....then they were 1 and done in the playoffs. The Texans must have the easiest schedule in the NFL. -
here's the ceiling so far this year....

Even at 5-2, this is a new low for the Baltimore Ravens. Let's be fair; the defense is decimated by injuries. Besides Ray, Webb, and recently Suggs, Ngata is 50% and Reed is hurt. Smith has a groin injury. Pollard is playing hurt. The bye week is right on schedule for some of these players to heal up. The big disappointment is that the next man up hasn't shown up. They are not deep enough in talent to overcome these injuries. Kruger, Jones, Cody, Upshaw, Kemo and McPhee have been disappointments in varying degrees. Williams and Smith are playing a little better but they have to step it up another notch. They have finally gone from 'bend but don't break' to broke. After weeks of ridiculous yardage being put on them they are allowing sick points. This has got to be where it stops. Suggs is back and that should help free up other guys to make plays. It should help the secondary and run defense. This storm will last until this D learns how to get a 3 and out. Untill then, the offense has no chance to get into any kind of rythmn. This 'no huddle' doesn't work with only 20 minutes of game time possesion. Want to beat a good offense? Keep it off the field. This storm will last until the Ravens offense stops playing 1, 2, 3 punt. Until they can sustain drives and rest the D, this viscous cycle will continue. They can't sustain drives by ignoring their best player in Ray Rice. They have proven that they can't win on the road passing. So run it. They could have run all day today if that would have been the game plan from the first snap. Ray's averaging 5 yards per carry. Use him. Stop finding ways to lose. Keep it simple: Block, tackle, throw, catch and run. It's a simple game. The team that executes these fundamentals wins the game. Get back to basics. There's a lot of football left. A lot of games for this team to develop, fix the weaknesses, find themselves and get better. They still look good as far as the playoff picture is concerned.
