  1. With the 25th overall pick, the Ravens are likely to exercise patience and wait until one of their coveted draft prospects gets within striking distance.

That could allow them to land Penn State defensive lineman Jared Odrick, Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, Rutgers cornerback Devin McCourty, massive Alabama nose guard Terrence “Mount” Cody or Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski. University of Florida center Maurkice Pouncey is a potential darkhorse option, too.

Those are the most logical possibilities. And that’s because Boise State cornerback Kyle Wilson, Michigan hybrid pass rusher Brandon Graham, Oklahoma tight end Jermaine Gresham, Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant and Tennessee nose guard Dan Williams are expected to be gone by the time the Ravens are on the clock.

The Ravens should get somebody good and fill a need.

  2. Wow!...

    Any interest in Ben Roethlisberger?

    By James Walker

Could you imagine Ben Roethlisberger in a Cleveland Browns uniform?

The Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers need quarterbacks, too. What about them?

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers have shopped Roethlisberger to all of the above.

For a vast majority of teams, there is too much baggage that comes with acquiring Roethlisberger. For starters, he's about to serve a suspension for up to six games. Second, Roethlisberger is still under contract for the $102 million deal he signed in 2008. And third, he has yet to prove he can stay out of trouble.

  3. Although this isn't their worst start 'record-wise' in team history this might be their worst start ever because of the timing.

It's the worst that could happen for a franchise desperately trying to get their fans on board after 12 years of losing.

All the new players...all the moves...all the stuff we're supposed to get excited about and "begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel" has been totally washed out.

    They can't beat anybody.

They are out of slogans so I got a new one for them.

"Come to the Yard and Watch the Grass Grow!"

    That's all I expect.

  4. One day to go!

"..so I said to myself...max you got to be responsible. You can't stay up that late for the draft and go to work tomorrow. Then I hear this voice in my head say 'Yea right!'.

Funny...it was the same voice I heard when I said to you 'We can sleep in bed together and I promise I won't touch you!'"

  5. Solid decision.

I hope the Steelers keep him. Every time he takes the field they will be associated with him...a real shitty image.

As for their "Great Image"...'teams of character'...that '70s team was loaded with steroid abusers.

They never have been squeeky clean.

  6. First glance/initial thoughts...

I love opening against the Jets on MNF even if it is away. That's 'respect' IMO...meaning the league sees the marketability of the "Ravens North" vs the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens get to beat them in their new stadium.

    "Hey!"

    220x166-top_rex_finger.jpg

4 out of the first 6 games on the road????

Well...that's offset by 4 of the last 6 at home.

4 Prime Time games...don't like Sunday night but it's the Steelers and it's on our turf...can't wait to "Boo" and pile it on Worthelessbrgrrr.

Love getting the Saints here in December.

End the regular season by knocking the Bengals out of the playoffs...sweet!

  7. He's sick...real sick...

The woman also said Roethlisberger told her, and her friends, to take numerous shots of alcohol. Then one of his bodyguards escorted her into a hallway at the nightclub, sat her on a stool and left. She said Roethlisberger walked down the hallway and exposed himself.

"I told him it wasn't ok, no, we don't need to do this and I proceeded to get up and try to leave," she said.

According to her statement, Roethlisberger then followed her into a nearby bathroom and shut the door.

"I still said no, this is not OK, and he then had sex with me," she wrote. "He said it was OK. He then left without saying anything."

Nicole Biancofiore, one of the woman's friends who also provided an account to police, said the woman "was dragged by a bodyguard to the back room in Capital (City). She was extremely intoxicated and not aware of what was happening." Biancofiore also said she saw another friend, Aliesha Scholten, try to open the locked bathroom door, but "she was taken away by a bodyguard of Ben's."

  8. I want both of them. The Ravens haven't had much luck at RT over the years...lot's of misses with an occasional short term hit.

Nobody has jumped on Gaither yet so his value is not in the J.O. stratosphere....maybe a mid-range LT contract would be enough for him.

Then there is a very good chance that somebody won't get the LT they want day 1 of the draft and make the Ravens a good offer. It would have to be good because they do not have a true RT on the roster if Oher moves to left. They have "wannabees".

That's not the kind of line they want and need. They need to get out of the pattern of bringing in extra blockers on passing downs.

Plus, I think Ozzie has the line that he wants. He won't get off it easily.

One Fine Day...this 5 man line needs to consistently pick up the blitz and stunts on their own without all the extra help.

Lose Gaither and they remain stuck in that pattern.

  9. I just listened to 25 minutes of it on the Ravens website. Even though it's the "Liars Luncheon", you can get good insight into how Ozzie and the front office are building this team. It's an extremely competetive league so a solid FO is vital if you're to seperate yourself from the pack. The Ravens are building for the opening day game and for 2-3 years down the road. They want to stay competetive every year.

I'm pumped and ready for the draft in 9 days.

    "I'll be back."
