Ellerbe? That is a little surprising. He didn't play often and when he did I don't remember him missing many tackles. Reed is not a big surprise. What's funny is that play where Moreno leapt over him probably didn't even count against him in this stat.

This stat makes a lot of sense. Just look at how many offenses ran over the Ravens last year and the ton of yards the D gave up. They were on the field more than most teams as they could not get off on 3rd down.

The age and injuries were exploited. Webb, a sure tackler and playmaker, was out of the line up. It all adds up to the stat that this post is about.

It's huge that the Ravens D has become younger and faster. To tackle somebody you first have to have the speed to get to him. They couldn't last year. Getting an arm or a hand on a guy is not enough.

Ellerbe played hurt. He was lights out in the Colts game and then he was a step late against the Broncos. For every highlight reel hit that Pollard made there are 10 plays where he couldn't catch up to anybody.

That will all change this year.

But for shits and giggles...it was a Super Bowl Championship Defense... :gorave:

Com'm Man!

Ease off Ed crav.

Ed was one of the greatest Ravens players ever.

EVER!

He was SPECTACULAR and we got to watch him every Sunday playing for Baltimore.

He gave everything he had and his body is paying for it now.

I'm so happy that he got his Super Bowl ring. He wanted that sooo bad.
