vmax
No respect for the fans. No respect for the coaches, scouts and front office people who will have to work 3 more weeks. No respect.Except for the Almighty Dollar.Damn this really sucks! During the recent NFL owners meetings, commissioner Roger Goodell all but said the 2014 draft would be held in May. Now it's official: the league on Tuesday announced new draft dates of May 8-10.The draft still will be held in New York City at Radio City Music Hall, and the league said "no decision has been made" when it comes to drafts beyond 2014.There was some discussion of changes for the 2014 NFL Combine and the beginning of the 2014 NFL league year. However, there were no major changes on that front: the league announced Tuesday that the 2014 NFL Combine will take place in Indianapolis Feb. 18-25.Additionally, the 2014 NFL league year will begin on March 11, 2014."The change in the date of the 2014 Draft will have no effect on when rookies may begin to report to their clubs, the dates of off-season programs or the length of off-season programs," the league said in a release.http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-football/22314468/2014-nfl-draft-date-set-for-may-8-10-at-radio-city-in-new-york
OutsideRzAcE
I don't get it. How does the NFL benefit from moving it to May?

papasmurfbell
The NFL gets to push draft pub all the way into May. I have seem where the teams like this. I think I read that the new nfl yr starts in May. I think they would open FA after the draft is done.
