Browns RB Lewis announces his intent to retire after season

CHICAGO -- Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis plans to retire at the end of the season.

 

Lewis told reporters Sunday after the Browns' 30-6 loss at Chicago that his 10th NFL season will be his last, adding, "When I talk, I mean what I say, and I think you all know that."

 

Lewis, who missed two games in late September and early October with a hamstring injury, ran for 69 yards on 16 carries against the Bears. That gave him 349 yards this season and 10,456 in his career.

In the same article he also says he thinks this is it. In a way its smart, most RBs are not very effective very far into their 30s anyway. (pay attention LaDainian)

Absolutely cleetz. If Ernest Byner can be there then there's room for anybody.

 

He carried that offense on his back...he was the offense..week after week he faced 8,9,10 in the box and was a big part of getting to the Super Bowl...the great 2003 season...then...he chose a life of suffering by going to Cleveland...

Oh I thought he had already retired. He should be in the ROH. His stats and the workhorse he was on the way to the SB makes him deserving.
