Cuts begin Tuesday

We are heading towards the final pre season game and reality is setting in. It's cold, but this is what competition for jobs is all about.

 

Ozzie obtained the best players and athletes that he could find to compete and help make the final 53 man roster the best 2013 Ravens team it can be. Everybody is pushing everybody to be better.

The players who don't make the final 53 man roster deserve respect....and understanding. They won't be in uniform this season but they were needed and helped to develop the roster.

For a large portion of their life, winning a job on an NFL roster has been their dream.

Starting Tuesday, for many players, their dream will end. No more football and they'll be off to the salt mines every Monday morning like the rest of us. Right now they have that weight and anxiety on their shoulders and are gearing up to show their best Thursday night, knowing it may be the last time that they put on the pads.

They can at least have the satisfaction that they made it this far as they run out of the tunnel Thursday night.

Few get to do that.

Very much doubt that they will cut Cody, from all accounts he looked fairly good this preseason.

Feel bad for Hall. Dropped 50 lbs because the coaches wanted him to play LB then cut him.

OK...cuts begin today. Probably because they are on a weekly Thursday schedule.

The Ravens made a big first step to trim the roster, cutting 12 players Sunday afternoon.

Baltimore terminated the contract of vested veteran tight end Visanthe Shiancoe.

The Ravens waived wide receiver Tommy Streeter, running back Damien Berry, wide receiver Rashad Carter, guard/tackle Jack Cornell, inside linebacker Bryan Hall, guard/tackle Ramon Harewood, defensive back Moe Lee, tackle David Mims, defensive end Will Pericak wide receiver Gerrard Sheppard and outside linebacker Meshak Williams.
