Jungletiger Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Lions, Redskins, Titans and Vikes ask permission to interview OC Jay Gruden Mike Zimmer is confirmed to interview with Vikes but says he has other teams expressing intrest to meet later in the week. Quote
vmax Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Getting rid of Gruden will help and any team that makes him a HC is a joke. Quote
Jungletiger Posted January 6, 2014 Author Posted January 6, 2014 Gruden is bad only in the sense that we don't have the QB to run his schemes. He needs a QB like Farve, Manning, or Palmer. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I love both your coordinators. They are both very talented. Quote
vmax Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Gruden is bad only in the sense that we don't have the QB to run his schemes. He needs a QB like Farve, Manning, or Palmer. That's why he's bad. He doesn't adjust his game plan and play calling to the talent that he has. He's an Arena football OC....not NFL. I don't find this impressive at all... vmax Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Oh this hurts! If Cincinnati Bengals owner Mike Brown had his way, it would have been Kaepernick -- not Dalton -- leading his team to the postseason the past three seasons.Citing Kaepernick's "unusual mobility," Brown told The Cincinnati Enquirer that he preferred the Nevada quarterback at No. 35 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft, whereas newly hired offensive coordinator Jay Gruden pushed hard for Dalton.Although Kaepernick was physically superior in every conceivable way, he was viewed as a developmental project, while Dalton was considered "NFL ready" with pinpoint accuracy and subpar arm strength.Leading up to the draft, Gruden couldn't hide his affinity for Dalton as a natural fit for his West Coast offense. Jungletiger Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Yeah that's been covered, general consensus is it was taken out of context. Gruden believes'd the Dalton fit his plan better than Kaepernick, and Brown was trying to say he let them take Andy because he values their judgments. Quote
