papasmurfbell Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/24/report-ravens-making-progress-with-dennis-pitta/ When it comes to NFL teams dealing with potential free agents, “close” can be a dangerous word. But there are at least some signs the Ravens are moving in the right direction with tight endDennis Pitta.According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the two sides are “making progress” toward a deal, though nothing is imminent. They have until the March 3 franchise tag deadline, though tagging Pitta could be problematic in that regard as well. But for a negotiation that was described as “far apart” within the last week, “making progress” sounds like a good thing. tsylvester Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I sure hope they do not over pay for him. There are a number of better tight ends in the draft, the top one likely available at 17, another very good one in the 2nd if they choose to wait. Should b interesting to see if they get him signed before the draft and if that deision makes a difference on who they or if they draft at 17. Quote
cravnravn Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Let him walk , joe will have to get another target Quote
oldno82 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Depends on how much they want to pay him. I'd be very careful if I were in Oz's shoes. We need a lot of help. Quote
thundercleetz Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I would love to have Pitta back but he's already 29. We need to be smart here. However I have no doubt that he would have an enormous year under Kubiak. Quote
