varaven45 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Looks like we are getting Seattle's Best - and I'm not talking about their damn java. We are facing a very tough rotation, starting with iwakama (sp.) tonight and Hernandez tomorrow. We need to get back on track and finish the west coast swing on a positive note Quote
ForceEight Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 It'll start with Machado hopefully being able to go today. And Chen hopefully getting through the sixth tonight? Quote
Spen Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Well I will long be asleep by the time this is over but so far so good. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Yep and w/o Machado no less. Impressive win ! Tonight will be extremely challenging w/ the M''s Felix on the hill.I m glad Buck is using Gausman tonight, followed by Norris and Gonzo. Quote
cravnravn Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Any updates on manny?? is this going to be like the Ripken situation? in, out, in out, then surgery? Quote
varaven45 Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 I don't have a clue. I think they are just playing it cautiously. I don't like Manny being out - screws up lineup, chemistry, not too mention his recent power surge. But I'd rather him get right and let Flaherty et al fill in. If this lingers past this weekend and Manny is not ready for Angels next week, then we got a concern on our hands. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 Yep. Awesome start in series, winning first two games started by their best SPs. Need to kick butt today and tomorrow and come home on a winning note for LA Angels. Quote
dc. Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 East is heating up - scary. Yanks and Jays are being up on each other, Rays have best record in baseball since June 25, Six have lost a few to the Rays but before that had win about 8 in a row... Quote

varaven45 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Os look like sleepwalking against mediocre pitcher today after beating it's two best starters. Hopefully just a oneday funk and we wake out of it tomorrow. Quote
vmax Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Os look like sleepwalking against mediocre pitcher today after beating it's two best starters.Hopefully just a oneday funk and we wake out of it tomorrow. Tomorrow is Sunday. They never win on Sundays. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Yeah; except we seemed to have a penchant for making these .500 pitchers w 4.0 ERAs - like tomorrow's guy- look like Tom Seaver. Worst case ; we split the series and west coast trip and return to Camden Yards w/ a 2 game lead over Yanks or Jays. I'll take it ! Quote
varaven45 Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Right on schedule through 4 innings . One measly run half way through against the next Tom Seaver. For a team that leads the ML in most offensive categories, we sure know how to play down to the competition. Quote
vmax Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 OH YEA! I didn't want to watch.because I've wasted too many Sundays on this team.....and they left 587 guys on base...but it was a nice win.And Zach Britton is unhittable....he's down right nasty. Quote
varaven45 Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 It was ugly but a W no less. To win ugly against some no name pitcher - 2nd day in a row- says something about the team. After the offense fell asleep in Seattle, it needs to wake at home against LA. Quote
