vmax Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) Bad luck for the Jags and Ramsey. It could have been the Ravens on the short end.....again. Cornerback Jalen Ramsey suffered a small meniscus tear in his right knee during Phase 2 of the team’s on-field workouts, the team confirmed Thursday. Ramsey, the fifth overall pick in last month’s draft, will obtain a second opinion next week, the team said. No timetable for Ramsey’s return was given. This comes one year after Jaguars end Dante Fowler, the third overall pick in the 2015 draft, tore an ACL during rookie camp and missed the entire season.....http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/jaguars-top-pick-ramsey-suffers-knee-injury/ar-BBtfGp9?li=BBnb7Kz Did you see Mexico's Team guaranteed all of Elliot's contract! He hasn't played a down, There's the slotting system and now Jerry Asshole Jones wrecks what took years to accomplish. Edited May 19, 2016 by vmax Quote
vmax Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 Here's more.... Sources said that Ramsey is being told there are two possible courses of surgical treatment -- one that would keep him out four to six weeks, and one that would keep him out four to six months..........This isn't his first injury to the right knee. Ramsey needed microfracture surgery on it during high school, ending his sophomore season before it even began. And some info on Miles Jack.... Ramsey isn't the Jaguars' only draft pick with a knee issue.Linebacker Myles Jack was one of the most talented defensive players in the draft but slid into the second round because of concerns about his surgically repaired right knee. Jack tore his lateral meniscus off the bone in September and missed the rest of the season at UCLA.Jack told the New York Post the day before the NFL draft that he could potentially need microfracture surgery, and there have been reports that Jack also has a degenerative defect in the knee that may cause the cartilage and bone to separate..........http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/15612641/jalen-ramsey-jacksonville-jaguars Quote
cravnravn Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) Unfuggingbelieveable!! thank you Dallas for not taking our trade bait. Jones is an asswipe, its slotted, there is no need to guarantee shit. to lay out that kind of money to a kid that has 0 carries in the NFL. didn't they kick Demarco Murray to the curb 2 years ago? Jerry needs a psych test. Edited May 20, 2016 by cravnravn Quote
tsylvester Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Intersting finding in there, Ramsey had microfracture surgery as a sophmore in high school.... Who knows if he would have been injured here, maybe it is the Jags practice turf, look at the injuries to all of their top picks over the past few years...... Quote
cravnravn Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 nice!!! the Jags flagship station here is blaming Dallas for not pulling the trigger with us for the trade . Jags knew we wanted Ramsey. Quote
tsylvester Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 He had surgery today, all went as expected, should return in time for training camp. According to ESPN. Quote
OneManCypher Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 why do you all care if Elliots contract is all guaranteed or not? Quote
tsylvester Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 why do you all care if Elliots contract is all guaranteed or not? It can set a precedent for other contracts. While the money is slotted, you might see players holding out for guarantee money..... Quote
cravnravn Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 why do you all care if Elliots contract is all guaranteed or not? why buck the system? 1st rd picks and bonus monies have been slotted for years, and it has worked, no holdouts. For Jerry to guarantee the kids contract, is going to lead to holdouts again. Quote
OneManCypher Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 whats wrong with players holding out for guaranteed money? they play a very violent physical game and should get as much money as they can while they can. When a QB gets a big contract the mindset is , well thats the going rate for a QB these days , why can't the going rate for a rookie include more guaranteed money? Quote
tsylvester Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 They get their money. The more they gold out for, the less teams have to pay other players. Team quality drops, the league would have to raise the cap, the owners and league make less money so they raise ticket, concession, etc, making it very prohibitive for the average fan to go. The game it self is on the brink of collapse as it is, price the fans out, no more NFL. No, I am not being hysterical, just look at the recent retirements of good, young players. All the medical eveidence ahowing concussions are bad for the brain, as if we didn't already know this.... Stadium deals that cost tax payers Billions and thd issues of homelessness, hunger, joblessness, and yes, refugees, and soon there is plenty of reasons to not fund new stadiums, bye-bye NFL. Quote
OneManCypher Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 ROTFLMAO ^^^^^^^^ all of this is going to happen because jerry jones guaranteed all of Elliots rookie contract Quote
cravnravn Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 whats wrong with players holding out for guaranteed money? they play a very violent physical game and should get as much money as they can while they can. When a QB gets a big contract the mindset is , well thats the going rate for a QB these days , why can't the going rate for a rookie include more guaranteed money?they get guaranteed money as a first round pick, who in their right minds guarantees a 26 million dollar contract to someone that hasn't played a down. 1st overall pick doesn't get 26 mil guaranteed Quote
OneManCypher Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 they use to guarantee more money than that so why are you so up in arms now? the domino effect that TSLY has illustrated is a joke and what was the percentage of hold outs actually missing games when there wasn't a rookie cap? Quote
OneManCypher Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 you people seem to want to blame the players for the greediness of the owners , it's always the players fault when prices go up , even though the owners benefit far more from prices going up than the players you'd rather blame the players. Quote
