Bell out of touch with reality

He should have said "Yes!"

His shelf life is short and he'll never earn more than what the Steelers offered him.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell wants to be rich. No, I mean really rich. Ed Bouchette of the Post-Gazette is reporting that Bell did indeed turn down a five-year contract that would have averaged more than $12 million per season.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has learned that on the afternoon of the July 17 NFL deadline for Bell to come to terms on a multi-year contract, team officials thought they came to terms with his agent on a five-year deal. However, at the last minute, Bell nixed the contract.

Just so we are clear. The Steelers had an offer on the table to pay Bell around $4 million more per season than the next highest-paid running back in the NFL and that wasn't good enough.

Right now, removing Bell and his pending one-year deal, Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman has the highest annual salary of any running back in the NFL at $8.25 million per season. According to the article, Bell wants $15 million per season. So his claims that he wants to be paid like the top running back and like a top wide receiver combined aren't so exaggerated after all.

The hard truth of this is he's never going to get that kind of money in Pittsburgh. They can tag him against next year for just over $14 million and still pay less than what he's demanding and let him leave in free agency after that....http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/confirmed-bell-shot-down-contract-in-place-between-steelers-and-his-agent/ar-AAqiFPV?li=BBnba9I
