varaven45 Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 This team and its 2017 performance has been likened to Forrest Gump's Box of Chocolates. Are we getting the Ravens' dominant performance-ala Dolphins, Raiders or Bengals ?Or the dud performances like Jax and Minnesota ? Conventional wisdom and pundits predict another dud and a Titans victory.Others think we turned the corner after Dolphins game. I'm in the former camp and think we see a dud in Tennessee.Bad Joe returns and Collins get shut down. Titans 23-13 Quote
tsylvester Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 On the road against a team with a winning record (?) I think a massacre is in the works.... Quote

vmax Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 This is a Telltale Game.If the Ravens can build off of last weeks performance than there's hope. Not playoff hope, but hope that there is a solid core to build upon. There are a lot of things needed for this. Can they fundamentally sound football?Block, tackle, throw and run?Start with that. Keep it simple. Quote
varaven45 Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 It's a rite of passage game for sure Quote
varaven45 Posted November 5, 2017 Author Posted November 5, 2017 No surprises here. We were who we thought we were. Quote
vmax Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 They have mastered finding ways to lose. That 23-13 was looking real good. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 16 plays to go 75 yards... Ever wonder why other teams can throw a simple swing pass to the back and get 8 yards, even against the Ravens' defense, yet the Ravens' offense lose 2 yards? Or how a simple 8 yard comeback route for the Ravens is tackled right away while other teams get 15+ yards after a spin and miss? Or when there is a deep route, the Ravens always seem to have either two receivers with in 5 yards of each other allowing defenders to turn away and play on the ball or the receiver down the sideline is always tightly covered? Yet when other teams run these routes, the feild is wide open, even against the Ravens? Or how big the field looks for other teams yet the Ravens seem to play on a smaller field? Who can't get six inches on 4th down? Answer, the Ravens...No nose tackle and they don't have an automatic qb sneak? They hand it off, again? Then wonder why they lose a yard ( then challenge the play).... Oye.. Quote
oldno82 Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Gosh Sylvester, you must be reading my mind! Quote
vmax Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 The Ravens first offensive play confirms your observations Sylvester. A 1/2 yard pass completion. Quote

I'm in the former camp and think we see a dud in Tennessee.Bad Joe returns and Collins get shut down. Titans 23-13 Missed the final score prediction by a last minute TD pass from Joe. Otherwise, it was exactly as suspected. No real predictive skill here; just a testimony to this team's predictability when it comes to performance, execution and mindset. I just cant understand how the Owner can sit idly by and watch this team generate what's has now become a standard 7-8 wins over the past 4-5 years. No game changers on offense or defense, no swagger, china dolls on both sides of the ball, no guys that "play like a raven", and constant rhetoric from the coach like, "our guys just have to play better", and player assertions like "our defense is going to be scary good this year". Been watching this team since its inaugural year of '96. Its the worst stretch I've seen the since the end of the Billick era. This team is in purgatory and its time to start fixing it. Sorry to be the Debbie Downer here but its frustrating as heck to watch. Its almost like being a Browns fan. Quote
RavenMad Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I usually try to see all the positives in everything but I just don't see it with this team. We are BORING to watch. It's just brutal. The team has taken on the persona of the coach and there is nothing to get excited about. When your best player on Offense was cut by another team and arrived on your practice squad after the start of the season you have to realize your doing something wrong in the draft and Free agency.
