Ravens release six-time Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle, per report

Mixed feelings about this one. Weddle was game savvy and a good leader on defense. But his skills were definitely down. All-in-all, sorry to see him go but it had to be done.

 

Now the question is 'Who takes his place?'

I would go with the rookie last yr. HE played well in his start. Also the other rookie who was on IR can be looked at and the draft.

They could lose 1/3rd to 1/2 of last years defense.

Mosley, Weddle, Zadarius Smith, Suggs...maybe Jimmy Smith...Urben.

That's a lot of leadership and experience there.

The D won't be as good as last years. Decosta is walking a fine line here if the 2019 D starts giving up big plays and points.
