It sounds like the Ravens will keep Jimmy Smith in the fold. While at the owners’ meetings, Ravens GM Eric DeCosta all but confirmed that the team will be moving forward with Smith, as Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic tweets.

“One of the greatest strengths of our team right now is our secondary. I think it would be foolish for us to make a strength a weakness for no reason,” DeCosta said.

 

I wonder if he has no real trade value.

I go with DeCosta's statement. Don't weaken this unit. Not in this pass happy era.

Also this unit will neutralize the Browns gains and probably deep 6 the Steelers O.

And remember it was not that long ago that the Ravens ran through 287 CB's a season

Im glad we are keeping Smith. Our D is going to need to keep us in games. Still need that pass rusher though.

Smart move or non move, Jimmy is an above average CB, with excellent size for the position. What he is making is not ludicrous considering some of the contracts handed out during free agency. What about moving Brandon Carr to safety tho.

They are set at Safety. They are still paying Jefferson. They just signed Thomas. They have the rookies from last yr. I don't even see the position as a draft need anymore.
