Guest BallTMore Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...0,7473504.story The Ravens have placed five players on the AFC Pro Bowl squad today, including middle linebacker Ray Lewis and free safety Ed Reed, for the 10th and fifth time, respectively. Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, special-teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo, and fullback Le'Ron McClain made the NFL's annual all-star game as backups. Congrats to Le'Ron! Really glad he made it. Quote
vmax Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 What a BJ to Ngata. Shaun Rogers made the team as the third interior defensive lineman behind Albert Haynesworth of Tennessee and Kris Jenkins of the New York Jets. Jenkins has played like poop lately and Rodgers plays 1 out of 3 downs. Quote
RavensNest8483 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I don't mind those 3 DT's making it over ngata, but koch should have been the punter. Quote
cravnravn Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Quarterback Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Brett Favre, New York Jets Jay Cutler, Denver What a joke, no mention of Kerry Collins?? Quote
yagersports Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Brett Favre does not belong there, QBs that are better right now, Phillip Rivers Chad Pennington (Ironically) Matt Shaub Matt Cassell Ridiculous, Favre does not belong at the Pro Bowl, I don't care what he's meant to football. He's had his time. Quote

Cassell, his worse games negate his best games. Quote

John Harbaugh said in a radio interview that our guys believe Rogers is better than Haynesworth. Harbaugh then said Rogers is one of the hardest defensive players to gameplan for in the league. I have not seen Jenkins play this season, but Rogers and Haynesworth certainly deserve to make it. Do not worry, Ngata's time is coming very soon. Quote
dc. Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...,7033098.column Good read in The Sun's "Face-off" about who was the biggest Ravens snub... Ngata is one choice... Jason Brown the other. Given the play of Haynesworth, Rogers and Hampton... I don't know that Ngata entirely deserved it. He deserves mention, but it was tight competition this year. Jason Brown, though? He has been a beast and a lock-down for our OL. I agree with Bill Ordine... Brown's contributions have been hugely overlooked. Quote
vmax Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Here's a new wrinkle from PFW... At guard, the standouts have been Ravens OLG Ben Grubbs and Jets OLG Alan Faneca. Grubbs, a second-year pro from Auburn, is a rising star. Faneca long has ranked among the elite at his position. Titans DT Albert Haynesworth, who’s likely to receive Defensive MVP consideration, can’t be left out of the starting lineup. Jets NT Kris Jenkins and Browns NT Shaun Rogers drew heavy consideration for the second starting DT spot, but we’ll go with Ravens NT Haloti Ngata, who’s that special combination of immovable but surprisingly athletic. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/Featu...probowl2324.htm Just mentioning Grubbs...and we know Brown is a stud...then there is Yanda...and Gaither...this is going to be one bad ass O line for a long time. Cassell, his worse games negate his best games. Ya know, except for the fact that Rivers has the most TDs and highest QB rating of anyone in the league this year, not to mention the best TD/INT ratio. Yeah, no success... Your Cassel reasoning is absolutely comical. You don't really look at statistics, do you? It's okay, neither does anyone voting for the Pro Bowl. Quote
yagersports Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 I was going to say something about the Cassell comment lol, especially since the subject was Favre lol. Like he has never thrown any games away lol. Quote

OK Rivers stats do speak for themselves and no I didn't look at them, I was going from the record of his team, plus the fact I still think he's an ass. Sorry. I'm still not a fan of Cassell though.
