oldno82 Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 The Ravens come off a good win against Cleveland and are looking to defeat a Steelers team at their home stadium again. Can the Ravens beat their last remaining unfaced AFC North foe? Quote
deeshopper Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 I certainly hope so. The Stealers are terrible, but these games have always been a dogfight. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 4, 2023 Posted October 4, 2023 Well, Tomlin might step out on the field to prevent, this time, Flowers from going on anlomg touchdown run. That defense might need him too the way they have been getting gutted. As Dee said, these games almost always seem to be a slobber knocker. Worst yet is the trip over seas awaiting the Ravens Monday morning, so let us hope their minds are focused and the line blocks better. Because Watt has taken flak for not producing more and with Moses likely out, that could spell trouble. Quote
oldno82 Posted October 5, 2023 Author Posted October 5, 2023 All injuries are bad of course but Moses’ comes at a particularly bad time. Heres hoping Stanley is back and Mekari slides over to RT if Moses can’t go. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Saw the video with some of the guys returning to practice. Obj looked solid, Humphries, maybe I was just seeing something that wasn't there but he appeared to walk a bit gingerly after a drill. Don't rush these guys back.... Haven't seen anything about Stanley.... Quote
oldno82 Posted October 5, 2023 Author Posted October 5, 2023 Is there a website I can see the practice video? I won’t be able to watch this weeks game until next week but I’ll have it on dvr. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 Here ya go buddy, the home site for the team https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/humphrey-beckham-injury-report-bateman-return-practice-ravens-steelers-week-5 Also mentioned today, Moses was back on the field, Stanley said he should be suited up Sunday, though no mention of play. Also, Bowser said he is really close to returning to practice, feeling great with his work outs on the side fields, not in pads. Shouldn't be long before this team is full stocked. Quote
oldno82 Posted October 5, 2023 Author Posted October 5, 2023 Thanks! I didn’t know they had clips. Reinforcements are on the way. Maybe not this week for all of them but very soon. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Looks like Picket will start, but will he finish Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 He might be on a pitch count, but Obj will be in da houz.... Quote

tsylvester Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Im with ya, Bateman will be back as well, Humphries and Williams should be back as well! Pit will be without 5 starters, 2 on the offensive line and their top tight end as well as their punter... Pit defense is one of the worst against the pass, so you can bet they will blitz a lot and then try to run the ball to control the clock, protect their young qb and banged up line Quote
tsylvester Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Good thing the site was down, after that apathetic effort, not sure I would want my expletives captured for all eternity. Missed opportunities, carelessness, lack of accountability. Another slobber knocker awaits against a team the Ravens should dominate... Thanks Dee, for all you do for us! At least we can count on you! Quote
oldno82 Posted October 10, 2023 Author Posted October 10, 2023 Yeah the site was down and it was good timing. What a disgusting game. Wasted opportunities, general collapse on offense. They should have won easily. And now on to London and who knows what the hell to expect?? Yes...thanks Dee for getting the board back up. Glad we have you. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Let's hope that they "get out of the quick sand", where when everything is going right then suddenly it all goes wrong, and you realize that you're in over your head, like quick sand" Shane Falco "Coach, I look like I jacked off an elephant" Yes, bring back the stick-em for the receivers if need be... papasmurfbell Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 That was a disgrace. Turdy is hot garbage and should have been flushed many yrs ago. He will never get close to a SB again. Lamar "Turnover King" Jackson is a waste of cap space. He will only get worse and worse. They are still basically running tne Roman offense. Maybe just maybe Roman understood Jackson is not capable of running anything much more complicated than what was run. Im calling it now. We lose in London Sunday. The week after steelers week and playing overseas. They will not be prepared. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 At this moment I have the following QB ranking. I do see Russ, Dak, and Tannehill falling going forward. I see Burrow and if Zach Wilson keeps getting better moving up. So this is what we get for all that cap space eaten? 1Patrick Mahomes 2 Tua Tagovailoa 3 Brock Purdy 4 Matthew Stafford 5 Josh Allen 6 Jared Goff 7 Jalen Hurts 8 Trevor Lawrence 9 Kirk Cousins 10 C.J. Stroud 11 Sam Howell 12 Justin Herbert 13 Russell Wilson 14 Dak Prescott 15 Ryan Tannehill 16 Lamar Jackson 17 Joe Burrow 18 Justin Fields 19 Desmond Ridder 20 Derek Carr 21 Zach Wilson 22 Kenny Pickett 23 Jordan Love 24 Geno Smith 25 Mac Jones 26 Baker Mayfield 27 Jimmy Garoppolo 28 Joshua Dobbs 29 Deshaun Watson Quote
tsylvester Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 It's not the Roman offense. There have been plays designed to go down field. But, either Lamar has been unwilling to throw, or he has not had time, or, he had over thrown. In the Pit game, one series he had Andrews in the flat on a 3rd and 8. He had Obj on the right side doing a curl, Flowers on the left doing a curl, and Bateman between then doing the same. The defense was in a cover 3, safeties back. Flowers and Bateman were wide open, but Lamar dumps it down to Andrews who fights for a first down. Hit either Flowers or Bateman, it is at least 15 yards. Another series, the same personnel, same routes save one; Flowers, he is on a skinny post, a stop & go. It worked, he is splitting the safeties, one of whom bit on the stop and go, wide open down the seam, Lamar has time, but choses to check it down to Obj for a short gain. They ran a similar set up later, Lamar did throw the ball but Flowers was on a over route, Lamar threw the ball to the deep middle expecting Flowers to take his route toward the endzone, rather than the sideline. Flowers fell trying to adjust to the badly thrown ball. Who was right? We will never know. These are just a few plays that; Roman never never ran and 2) Lamar chose not to throw or missed badly. Receivers are open, the timing is a bit off with blocking, losing Mecari really hurt, the big first year right tackle was horrible. I found it interesting that Lamar, who championed not wearing a wrist band, wore one for the entire game. This game just snow balled on them, the receivers lost focus, tried too hard and boom, drop passes like Kim K drops men. But Lamar, a supposed good leader, should not have lost "hope". He really looked apethic in the later part of the first half and the rest of the game. Quote
oldno82 Posted October 11, 2023 Author Posted October 11, 2023 I was out of town and didn't see the game until yesterday. They started off like a solid football team, moving smoothly on the ground and in the air. The first quarter was all theirs but then there were the dropped passes by Flowers and Andrews and Bateman. Instead of the field goal they should have had a second TD. After that they really lost focus. Things just snowballed as the game got away from them. Football is an emotional game and they lost the edge and swagger they had in the first quarter. Lamar has to rally them. Harbs has to do more in game motivation when they are starting to slide. But I don't think this team is that far away from being something special. They can go either way this Sunday. They can just let up in the face of adversity or learn how to conquer it. Every man on the team should be ready to come out sky high in London to erase this ugly loss in Pittsburgh. Can they do it or are they going to curl up in a ball and let Tennessee overrun them? Going to be interesting to see. Quote
varaven45 Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 Agreed the hangover extends into London or the team consumes some bad fish and chips . Either way, we don’t show up but even if we miraculously make it close, bad Lamar shows up, Harbaugh easily gets out coached by Vrabel, and we come home 3-3. Oh and Harbaugh throws another coach or player under the bus and explains how they’ll look at the film and get better. Book it ! 1 1 Quote
