tsylvester Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Short week made shorter with the Thanksgiving holiday. So happy Holiday peeps. Talk about a doctor Jeckle, Mr Hyde team, the Eagles certainly fit that mold. One minute they can't run the ball, can't stop the run, the next they are setting franchise records. Their offense currently sits 3rd and the league in total offense, averaging 389 yards per game, 195 through the air, 193 on the ground, good for 26 pts per game. Their defense sits atop the league, holding teams to 175 yards per game in the air, 99 on the ground, 18 pts per game. Ah but turnovers is where the monsters come out, Phili is just a plus 3, 14 take aways, 11 give aways. So another tough test for the Ravens before a much needed bye week to lick their wounds and gear up for the final push of the regular season. Enjoy your meal, but enjoy the company more, one can never get too many second helpings of hugs & kisses. So, who ya got!? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Philthy got things going about 6 weeks ago. With the new coordinators I think they needed time getting everyone in line. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted November 27 Posted November 27 They've played shit teams, just like the Chargers. We'll see. "PFF shows the Eagles as having the 30th most difficult schedule so far (2nd easiest). They have only beat 2 teams with a winning record, Green Bay and Commanders. Neither of those wins were on the road in the opponent's home stadium. Their other 7 wins came against opponents with a combined record of 24-53 (31% win record). They beat the 4-win-Saints, the Deshaun-led-3-and-8-Browns, the 2-and-9-Giants, the 4-win-Bungles, and the 2-and-9-Jagwires, and the-4-win-Cooper-Rush-Cowboys. Admittedly, they did look pretty good against the 5-6 Rams last week. Their 2 losses were to the 6-5 Falcons and the 5-6 Bucs when the Bucs were full strength. The Eagles average 26 points per game, compared to the Ravens 30 points per game and the Ravens have played against better competition." Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I’m not super enamored with who the ravens have played as well. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 27 Author Posted November 27 The revamped secondary of the Ravens hasn't been truly tested yet, either because of average qb or lack of true deep speed. Against the Iggles, they will be tested, as will the front four. Hurts can run and is difficult to bring down. But, he does fumble a lot, averaging 9 per season, so far he has 6, so he is due Quote
tsylvester Posted November 28 Author Posted November 28 In better news If Pierce can play on Sunday, it would be an opportune time for his return to face star Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, who leads the NFL in rushing. "We have our fingers crossed that he could be ready this week," Head Coach John Harbaugh said. Quote
oldno82 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Roquan was practicing too. Having him back should help with Barkley. But this is going to be another tough game. We'll need Pierce. Yeah, Kolar is out...potentially for a month or more. Amazingly, he played the whole game against the Chargers. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 Finally! 3rd and inches, Minnesota Golden Gophers line up in tush push formation, take the snap, quick hand-off to the speedy guy with the 2 other "pushers" as blockers, get around the edge, 20+ yards gain. You know it is evolving, much like the 4th and inches, play fake take a deep shot. Or the fake wr screen where 1 "blocker" fakes the block and goes long, usually wide open. Just a matter of time before we see the Ravens utilize these plays. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 I don't mind that they "legalized" pushing someone forward. But they need to start flagging those who pull and in some cases, lift and carry.... They also need to crack down on the forward lateral, these qbs are getting away with it too often.. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Cool flag the already made rule violations. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 I cannot believe the Michigan vs OSU game is knotted at 10 with 45 seconds left in the game. Now Michigan kicks the field goal to take a 13-10 lead Will they win or lose on a last second touchdown pass? Either way, OSU is not going to cover the spread Quote
tsylvester Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 Geeze, 3rd and 9, at their own 20, a sack is about to happen but Michigan calls a time out first Quote
tsylvester Posted November 30 Author Posted November 30 4th and 9 now, Howard forced to flee, throws it away 28 seconds Howard hit as he throws, Michigan wins, Michigan wins, Michigan wins! I told my Ohio buddy when the season began, you can't win a championship with Will Howard as your quarterback They are out of the big ten championship now, likely will make the playoffs though with only 2 loses Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 After a 13 yards run by Barkley, the defense stiffens, force a punt. Good punt, 40 yards, bounces and settles at the 14. Of course there is a flag, thankfully on them, holding, 10 yards added to the kick Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Oop, a re kick, Wallace gets decked after declare a fair catch, add 15 yards onto that. Start at their 33. Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Shot gun, Henry to the left for 5. From under center, up the middle, no room. 3rd and 5 Lamar with no time, sacked. Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Flag on the play, holding on the defense, first down! Under center Lamar forced to flee, dances, fires 40 yards to Flowers! Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Shot gun, Henry to the left for 4, Under center Jet sweep to Flowers is read and stopped immediately loss of 3 3rd and 9 Lamar floats one to Andrews who was open, just too far, Tucker time From 34 yards it is dead center 3-0 Ravens Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Kickoff is a touchback Lots of 1 score games earlier, many 3 pts of less.. Run up the middle for 4 Blitz by Humphries forces Hurts to throw it away 3rd and 6 Takes a deep shot to Brown, Stephens is step for step, incomplete but looks like Hamilton is hurt, badly Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Collision thent, just fell down in coverage Ground, knee, ankle? Punt time for them Fair caught at the 17 Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Under center, Henry left for 6 8 mins left in the 1st quarter Swing pass to Henry to avoid the blitz, goes for 15 Sweep right from the I formation gets 3 Hill is in, shot gun Lamar with time , hits Flowers for 20 Quote
tsylvester Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 High point, an over used term Under center, Hill up the middle for no gain. Hands to the face on them, 1st down! Hamilton is under a concussion watch Play fake ro Henry, roll right, throw back to Andrews for 2 From their 28 Henry left runs with Stanley to the 10 for 19 yards Quote
