Well, if reports are accurate, it was a simple break, not, not a lis franc, so six weeks from surgery would put him in the week 1 game. Even so, I would not expect him at full strength for that game..... Quote
tsylvester Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Lamar had his foot stepped on yesterday, left practice, reportedly, holding his right wrist/hand and having the medical trainers looking at it. Reports were a foot/ankle injury possible but not a big deal. He is out of today's practice because of, again, reportedly, a foot injury My only question is: is it really a foot injury, or did he hurt his hand when he went to brace his fall? Quote
oldno82 Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 The Sun says X-rays on the foot were negative but nothing about his wrist. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 21 Posted August 21 They are lying. Apparently stayed in 2 more plays. One throw was a duck. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 22 Posted August 22 The issue is they say it’s a foot injury but the player is rubbing his hand and shaking it. The team has a history of lying so ppl don’t believe them. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 25 Posted August 25 As expected, Shefty trying to keep his status as the man going amidst the plethora of people now using the you tube and the ticky tocky, and the other ones to become famous... Now for the cuts and ps squad Quote
oldno82 Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 I think this team has the most difficult decisions to make regarding cuts than they've had in a long time. Maybe ever. There are a lot of guys I'd like to see them keep but it's impossible to keep them all when the current roster is so stacked. We could use more depth on the O-line but other than at C there doesn't seem to be any candidates. The defensive backfield is filled but there are several who could break in there. Running back is stacked but we've got to find a way to keep Ali in case of injury. Decisions, decisions, decisions! Too many to list them all. Quote

tsylvester Posted August 25 Posted August 25 The only place they are not deep is at wr and to a lesser extent, defensive end. We won't likely see their final roster until after 4 pm tomorrow Quote
oldno82 Posted August 25 Author Posted August 25 I don't think the offensive line is as deep as it has been in the past...there's no Mekari this year...but if they can avoid injuries to 2 at the same time, it'll be alright. It's a good O-line for running the ball, but I think it could be better against the pass rush. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Well, Lamar is still the great equalizer to help out a weak pass blocking line Quote

The shift plus whoever jumps onto the right could make issues for the line on both sides at once. That is not great for Lamar being upright. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 26 Posted August 26 True, the experienced depth on the line is not great, shoot, even most of the starters are young, very young. But there are 8, 9 guys who are solid, some are very good at run blocking, others at pass blocking. Time, playing time is needed for them to round out as it were. But I don't think it is as bleak as some think. Sure, Mekari, the Swiss army knife is gone, but he will really all they had the past few years. Now they have a few at each position. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Vinson and Cleveland are trash. That is right behind the starters. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Cleveland has shown he can play well when given the chance to play. His issue has always been practice and that, largely because of personal issues he seems to have overcome. He can play guard or center, and do so adequately. Vinson is not a beast but he will do in a pinch, finish a game maybe start 1 or 2. Same for Noteboom. Bullock has shown promise at center, he is a little better power blocker, a bit weak in pass blocking right now, but I expect him to get better. I also would not be surprised to see him supplant our current center next year if Lindy prices him self off of the roster. Quote
tsylvester Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Oh I know, but then the Ravens were lying about Lamar's foot.... Quote
