tsylvester Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Okay, get that bad taste out of our mouths, sure, it looked like a good bet the Ravens would beat the Lions, their record against the NFC with Lamar at the helm and all.... Now the team faces an uphill battle, travel out west, take on a foe who seem to have your number, even loses by the length of a toe... Can the defense rebound, find their strength, get their footing, seal the holes and contain am elusive magician? Can the offensive line protect our own unicorn? With what has gone on this year around the league, the Colts only punting once in 3 games and not turning the ball over included, who knows what will happen in KC. So, who ya got? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Jones and karloftis destroy our offense. Our d maybe better but the best player in the game drag the chiefs to a victory. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 24 Posted September 24 The whole dl is out today. So is Stanley. We signed a couple dl off the street. Kc under center Isaiah between the tackles all day long. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 24 Author Posted September 24 Bryan and Tupou are good signings. They both play hard and in a rotational situation, can be very good... Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 25 Posted September 25 They maybe all we got this week. Sounds like the rest are out. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 25 Author Posted September 25 So far it just looks like rest, an ankle, a knee, nothing too serious at this point. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Travis left the game early mon night. I think he is hurt. Madds is def out. Remember short week. Quote
tsylvester Posted September 25 Author Posted September 25 Yep, Madds will be out at least the rest of the month i would expect. I think Jones will be fine by game time Sunday, especially if they keep a good number for rotations. They need to just get back to basic on defense, too many rookies in the rotations to be doing complex defenses, they just are not ready for it yet. Buch, Starks and Green, that is 3 levels of rookies you are asking a lot of... Quote
GrubberRaven Posted September 25 Posted September 25 Jones back...Stanley and Washington still out 1 Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 25 Posted September 25 You have rookies at all 3 levels bc they don’t put resources towards passrush. Quote

There wasnt a pass rush specialist available other than the one who fell because of off the field issues. Or of course, pay more top dollar for a free agent, eat up more cap. Trade? Maybe they tried and just like with Henry and the Titans were turned away.... Who knows. My point, growing pains, a lot of football left Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 25 Posted September 25 It’s been like a decade since we have invested in that area of the d. We keep going after projects in the draft. Quote

I've noticed that as well but I believe it's because we're always drafting near the bottom of the barrel. That makes it harder to have success in the third round and beyond. Quote

Even though only a handful of teams have made the PO's after a 1-3 start, I think the Ravens will make it. Quote

GrubberRaven Posted September 26 Posted September 26 WAtching Calais on the sideline with AZ demonstrates the lack of alphas on this team. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 26 Posted September 26 We don’t have alphas since 2012 when turdy purged them. Quote
oldno82 Posted September 26 Posted September 26 By the way, WTF ever happened to Keaton Mitchell?? He's just disappeared off the radar. If he's healthy, he should be being used as a change of pace back. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Hell he should probably get close to the same number of snaps as Henry. A back who can be effective in the pass game is important. Quote

I agree, weve all railed iat Eric for faking these injured, PSU ends who eifher did nothing in college or built their numbers against the little sisters of the poor. It is, they are, still haunting us today. Sure, Owe flashes from time to time, had 10 sacks last year, none in the playoffs if memory serves me right. Green at least had the consistent numbers in college but they are bringing him along slowly and having him drop in coverage for some reason. Shoot, let him learn that part later, turn the young man loose. Quote

And as the saying goes the sun shines on a dogs ass sometimes. 2 hours ago, tsylvester said: He is not very good at blitz pick up and his elite speed has not rerurned. If he has trouble with the blitz just have him in plays where he just leaks out and doesn’t have to work against the passrush. Bring him along in that area slowly. Just he his open field ability in play. Quote
oldno82 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Yeah from what I saw in preseason his speed and cut ability is back...they ought to be able to work him in there now and then. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Yeah. The issue is the game day roster. Ali is on teams. Maybe a wr sits. Quote
