Man, I sure hope so. I'm so sick of drafting injured college players with 'great potential' who need 1 year to rehab before they even hit the field and then turn out to be duds instead of the studs the Ravens promised the fans they'd see. Unfortunately, I guess (may be wrong here) that this was really EDC's modus operandi and he's still here.

I give Eric one last year to put some real immediate talent on the field. If he doesn't succeed, we're screwed.

You can check the young man out this weekend in the playoff game against Ole Miss. They have a very good defensive line, he should get a good test.

Either one below would go a long way to improve the OL:

Athletic:

14. Baltimore Ravens: Vega Ioane, G/C, Penn State

Ioane is the exact type of behemoth Baltimore’s offense has been missing in the middle. Re-sign Tyler Linderbaum, put Ioane next to him, and Baltimore’s offensive line would be rocking again.

17. Detroit Lions: Kadyn Proctor, OT, Alabama

The Lions could have needs nearly across the board on the offensive line, especially with left tackle Taylor Decker and interior lineman Graham Glasgow pondering their futures. Proctor is still more sizzle than steak, but the potential — like his 6-foot-7, 360-pound frame — is enormous.

He hasn't been a complete failure.  Yeesh

True. We have for the first time in franchise history been able to draft some wide receivers with a lot of talent and production. Flowers is probably a perennial pro bowler. Bateman  is competent and we have another good receiver in Walker. We also have signed Henry. But the offensive line is a mess so Lamar seldom has enough time to find them.

The defensive line has shown it cannot put pressure on opposing quarterbacks and so we have to blitz more which leaves gaps in the secondary. There is a real absence of depth on the D-line.

I just want us to stop taking flyers on injured college guys whose best days are over before they even play here.

Maybe EDC can correct this. Maybe not. We shall soon see.

But that’s the problem.  If Eric continues to fail then the new coach fails and we wasted at least 3 yrs.  A new gm most likely wants his pick of hc.

14. Baltimore Ravens - DL Peter Woods, Clemson

Cutting ties with John Harbaugh symbolizes what could be a big shift for the Baltimore Ravens moving forward. Apologies for stating the painfully obvious, but it feels quite pertinent for the draft with the help that this defense needs. Drafting someone like Peter Woods would fit the playbook I foresee in a big way. Woods is a monster on the interior with uncanny explosiveness and agility for a player well over 300 pounds. He can be a force, especially with the uncertain future of Nnamdi Madubuike.

In case you couldn't watch the game last night, watch the Indiana wide out, Sarratt, talked about him earlier in the thread. He is not a speed demon, he is what this team needs, a possession receiver who is tough, physical and has great hands.

The Ravens can get him in the 2nd, maybe even the 3rd. They don't have a guy like this, though they use Likely for this, if they resign him. Think of Puka, very similar skill set

Donte Moore returning to Oregon, smart choice, he is not NFL ready.

Neither is the Bama kid, why he is going pro is puzzling. It cant be the money, what with the NIL money now. Granted, of all years to go pro from the qb position, this will be it, only 1 guy worthy of a 1st round pick

Some in the media are pushing for the Ravens to trade Lamar to the Raiders 🤣 obviously for hits and clicks. With that said, would you prefer the rookie deal extra draft picks and Mendosa over Lamar?

If Lamar really wants to commit to staying here and is willing to do a revised contract before free agency, I'd keep him. But if he doesn't or is only lukewarm about it, then I'd rather have the picks and Mendoza.

I was disappointed in Lamar this past season but then almost all the Ravens, players and coaches, were disappointing.

If they do, just for shits & giggles, say do that, they have to fix the line completely. He is not a statue, but he would get killed behind this current line.

They cant do what they did to Joe, or even Elvis when they signed him to replace Dilfer. Pocket passers need a pocket, it is what made it easier for Aikman to be in the Hall. He talks about that a lot.

They pretty much have to fix the line completely anyway, don't they?

I'm not sure how much Lamar has left in the tank as a running-quarterback-too many hits over too many years-but I think he is right on the verge of becoming a very good pocket quarterback provided he is amenable to the right kind of coaching.

From the Sun's CJ Doon on the Ravens' first draft pick:

"14. Ravens: Peter Woods, DT, Clemson

The Ravens already seem to be planning for a future without star defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike after re-signing Travis Jones and John Jenkins. Woods didn’t meet high expectations in 2025, but he has the talent to be a standout pass rusher and run defender in the middle of the defense."

Frankly, this is the kind of guy I don't want us to draft; a guy who had a downer season in 2025 compared to his year before. It's all too familiar that we would draft a guy who really has uneven production and then he never pans out for us. To me, this could be a wasted pick.
