tsylvester Posted Sunday at 06:15 PM Author Posted Sunday at 06:15 PM Lot of pre draft buzz about trading Humphrey during the draft. Sure, he has slowed down, had a bad year last season and is turning 30, soon. However, aside from him, there is a lot of youth in the secondary, safeties & corners. Figure they will draft a couple of corners and even with Hamilton, who is experienced, is still young himself. 30 is old for a runningback, a wide out, but not necessarily for a corner. Hopefully they will rework his deal and he will be willing, since he will likely lose his starting spot. He is a great teammate, and would add good, experienced depth this team may need. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted Sunday at 08:11 PM Posted Sunday at 08:11 PM He has had a lot of injuries. That I think is what is starting to hamper him. I would trade him for sure. Quote
oldno82 Posted Sunday at 09:03 PM Posted Sunday at 09:03 PM I don't think we would get much in a trade whereas he may still be of use for his leadership and his performance ain't that bad. As the saying goes, you can never have too many corners. Quote
tsylvester Posted Sunday at 11:20 PM Author Posted Sunday at 11:20 PM He is still a solid tackler, shoot, use him around the line of scrimmage as they do Hamilton, let him cover tight ends Quote

oldno82 Posted Monday at 04:05 AM Posted Monday at 04:05 AM Well that is a problem they ought to be able to work out. He might take a fair reduction as opposed to being cut. I just don't think there is a viable trade market for him whereas he has some value to us for leadership in the locker room. And, sure, play him closer to the LOS and have him also cover tight ends. papasmurfbell Posted Monday at 11:22 AM Posted Monday at 11:22 AM Then get his number fixed. Without that have a nice life. Quote
GrubberRaven Posted Monday at 01:45 PM Posted Monday at 01:45 PM I read or watched somewhere that he has already agreed to a re-structure. Quote
tsylvester Posted Monday at 02:19 PM Author Posted Monday at 02:19 PM I know they did last year, adding two void years to lower his salary to just over a mil, saving them $13 mil last year. Not sure about this year Quote
GrubberRaven Posted Monday at 03:08 PM Posted Monday at 03:08 PM I have a lot of faith in the different mindset to coaching. Harbaugh is gone. While I didn't have as much fault with his as most, I was fine with his dismissal. Hell, he's still being quoted as to saying he felt last season was a success... Quote
tsylvester Posted Monday at 03:34 PM Author Posted Monday at 03:34 PM My biggest problem with him is his thinking he can bring the best out of anyone and, make them better. Whether it was an injured player who had very little success in college but has all of the measurable, or coaches past their prime, or have little to no experience. It caught up to him last year, no depth, tight cap, poor performance, regression un some cases. I look forward to seeing how this new coaching staff, works. Good or bad, the change was needed, much like when Billick's time was up 1 Quote
oldno82 Posted Monday at 09:58 PM Posted Monday at 09:58 PM Yeah, looking forward to the new regime too. Good things will happen if the players buy in. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted Monday at 10:41 PM Posted Monday at 10:41 PM Not just adding void yrs. Marlon needs to take a haircut. Two yrs ago he was great. 3 was bad last yr was bad. There is more bad than good. Quote
tsylvester Posted Tuesday at 06:25 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:25 PM His biggest issue now is health, he seems to get nicked up and takes a whole, because of age, takes longer to heal. Last season he was never really healthy. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted Tuesday at 07:19 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:19 PM So take his pay to vet min. If not hit the bricks. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted Tuesday at 10:25 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:25 PM Totally cool. Just not getting full pay from the training room on the regular. Quote
tsylvester Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Just a few weeks left until the draft will start. For some reason this season it gives a flutter to my heart. Who will they choose, what will they do, trade someone old for someone new? Will the ones who they pick, stay healthy and not sick? Will they come together and form a team quick? Will they beat the teams that stand in their way? Will they give us a reason at the end of the season to loudly shout hooray?! Quote
oldno82 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I see now we are posting in verse, I just hope the new coach makes us better, not worse. We have to allow him some time to settle in Before we will know if with our team he can win. I find that posting like this is too hard to do So I will just sign off without further ado. 1 Quote
