They're not making the final choice of a head coach, they are conducting the first interviews and winnowing down the list from the 15-20 possibilities to eventually 5 from which it will be Bisciotti's decision after a full day interview with their input. Any medium to large scale organization would handle the process the same way.

And lets not forget that Ozzie is part of the search team as well.

He’s interviewing the finalists. His team of EDC, Sashi, and Oz are combing through the others to give him a manageable list which he, with those trusted lieutenants will reach a consensus on. If no consensus evolves, Steve will have the ultimate say.

Again, this is how it’s done at many high level organizations.

Well, all I can say is, I can't see the group of 3 conspiring to stack the deck. Especially when Ozzie is a part of the group. I think they'll whittle down the list to a manageable number and give it to Steve, who with their input, will shoot for a consensus or if that doesn't please him, he has the power to just make the pick. I have a lot of confidence in Bisciotti to make a good decision.

None of us at this point know who is going to emerge as the new coach so all bets are off until we see (if we see) a list of the final 5.

At this point, I remain hopeful especially with the list of interviews they've conducted so far.

Not I with those 2 failures getting first choice.

I get your trepidation, we don't know how ir what these three are looking for in a coach. Only Ozzie has really been through this and he did pretty well. The Biscuit was in on the Billick firing Harbs hiring as well.

Yes, the wrong coach could set this team back 5 years or more, same as drafting the wrong quarterback or signing the wrong one for that matter.

But one thing this team has a core talent, it's not as if this team was horrible like says the Raiders or Browns for years and it is here we go again.

This team is only now 1 season removed from a true Super Bowl contender.

There are a few coaches out there who appear to be great choices in Minter, Flores and the like.

Yes, most of us chose to have "faith", "trust" pick your word, in the organization to make the right choice, they did with Billick and Harbs and got 2 Super Bowls, many great games, and seasons.

Unlike the Browns, Raiders, Jets, and their ilk.

Where did sashi come from?  There is a quote I like.  Trust but verify.  I have verified what the 2 screw ups have done.

at least I don’t have group think.  I would put my ravens predictions far and away better than the vast majority of ravens fans.

I heard a way they could rig it.  They are waiting for someone still in while good candidates start getting snatched up by other teams leaving the guy they want plus the slapnuts that fill out the group before stave can step in.

I'm trying to just get a handle what the board group here thinks the best selections would be for head coach.

I kind of like several of the possibilities with Kubiak, Flores, and Vance Joseph leading the  pack. I also like Shula as a dark horse.

Why not Minter? Ties to here?

Flores/Saleh could bring some ol' school honor back to the D.  McDaniel as OC

I like Minter too. In fact, I'm pretty impressed about the majority of the guys they've been interviewing.

I would prefer Minter, though his inexperience give me a little pause. Ideally Flores, I think his time in Miami showed him how not to do things. I think he got a raw deal there.

Would love McD as the oc only, not as a head coach. I think he is too mercurial to be a head coach and it takes away from his abilities as an oc.

Swartz would be great here in Bmore, as a DC, I don't think he would be a good hc, but meh.

The main thing this team needs is physicality, in all 3 phases, they lost it over the years. Time to get it back and Flores & or Minter could bring it back to life.

An interesting caveat to Minter is if he and Harbaugh would be plucking from the same tree of coaches they have worked with.

I definitely want to old swag of our D back.

I too would like to see McDaniel as OC not HC. He's got a great offensive mind. I think a great combo would be Flores as HC and McD as his OC. Unfortunately, I think Schwartz will stay in Cleveland in some capacity. I don't yet have a favorite as DC other than Schwartz.
