Vote Yes for Question 7.

If the West Virginia casinos are pumping such an incredible amount of money into "Vote No" commercials then this has to be good for Maryland.

Of course the interested casino parties in Maryland are dumping tons of $$$ into countering this, but the point remains the same:

This hurts out of state gambling....helps us.

Too little, too late the damage is done, unless that Question 7 carries with it the bill to start construction of a new track and casino down by the stadiums.

Casino yes, track no. A Harrah's is going up next to M&T Bank stadium regardless of this passing or not. It just comes down to table game or no table games.

You have to put a track there, Pimlico is an embarassment to the horse racing industry, and you cant relocate it Laurel or Delaware Pk due to the fact that they have lakes in their infield.

Where did you hear that a Harrahs was coming in? I thought Penn Gaming had all control on gambling in Md.

Prior to me relocating, at my former job alot of the big company masons that I dealt with were spreading the rumors of that 600 acres of land by the stadiums, and it was being bid upon as a casino/track..Preakness needs to stay IN BALTIMORE, and having it at Old Hilltop just doesnt meet todays standards.

Caesar's got the license for Baltimore. There are commericals all the time from Caesars at the Russell St site telling people to vote for Question 7. It's going to be open in the third quarter of 2014 regardless of Question 7 passing or not. But if Question 7 passes they say the site could host the World Series of Poker and boxing/MMA events.

I do not think there is room for a track down there, I could be wrong though. I also think that slots or no slots, gambling or no gambling - that horse racing is a dying industry. At least around here. How much of the Preakness is actually about horse racing and how much is about infield debauchery?

But...in the end, isn't that what life is all about?

I think its harmless fun and I am not criticizing it. I just think it could be a 'famous' anything (2nd leg of the National Tractor Pull) and the crowd would still show up and the actual horse race doesn't matter to most people there.

No doubt Spen, I care a ton about Horse Racing, but NOT on that 3rd Saturday in May, hell I was on the infield for the last Triple Crown Winner, Affirmed, I didnt see a race that day, just a ton of Natty Bohs.

Theres a ton of room in this area that has been sectioned off, you need a mile an a half in an oval shape..Dover Nascar Track, Im sure you have seen it, it has the harness track and huge hotel casino, that most of the hotel rooms overlook the nascar track and harness racing track, remember you just need your grounds for the race track and parking, you can always build skyward, and for Preakness Day with the parking, Im sure something will be worked out with the Stadium Authority to have access to the ATM parking lots..
