ravinmaniac52 Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 The Ravens made several moves on Tuesday, signing free agent tight end Tony Curtis and trading linebacker Prescott Burgess to the New England Patriots for a conditional seventh-round draft pick. Curtis, 6-foot-5, 251 pounds, was an undrafted rookie out of Portland State when he joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2005. In three campaigns with the Cowboys, Curtis became a valuable special teams player and posted 11 catches for 50 yards and three touchdowns. All three of his touchdowns came during in 2007. Curtis had been battling injuries, but also worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles this summer. http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/?p=1028 Quote
colincac Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I would love the trade because it frees up roster space to use Kruger, but I don't like the fact that we are doing it before we play the Pats....Not a big fan of picking up another TE but I guess they feel like he does what Burgess did on ST and also provides depth for Heap and LJ. Lets hope Burgess doesn't give away too much of our defense. Quote
vmax Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Great...just what we need...another TE who can't stay healthy. Quote
RavensFanNC Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 I agree with the part about trading the guy to the team we play in 1.5 weeks...don't like that at all. Quote
BMoreHon Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Like a 7th round pick though...magic happens there Quote
