I was listening to Bob Haynie and Glenn Unis on the fan this Morning (wayyy better than Norris and Davis btw) and they were debating what the Ravens need to do, from this point on, in order for 2012 to be considered a success. Do they need to win at least one playoff game? Do they need to go to further than they have before in the Harbs Flacco Era (i.e. SB or failure)? Is 2012 already a sucecss when you consider they have secured their second striaght division title?

I thought this was a BS flag as well.

The Defenseless receiver rule is the biggest crock of shit. I hate it. You want to penalize helmet to helmet, fine. But don't tell me you can't hit a guy in the shoulder "too soon" after he catches the ball. The fines for these "defenseless receiver" hits will continue until the league doesn't have this lawsuit hanging over it's head. They should make players sign a waiver that says they can't sue if they want to play in the league, they know the risks full well when they sign up. Everyone would sign it, but of course it would be one hell of a fight with the NFLPA.

Yea Reed's hit was clean. I think he'll be ok. As far as who to rest. I would treat this like a 4th preseason game and bring out the 2nd unit. I agree with Max about resting Yanda and Birk, but then you are facing the Dline that has the most sacks in the leauge so you don't want to get Flacco beat up. Rest as many as possible.

The ref argued that he wasn't making a move toward the endzone, therefore him breaking the plane didn't matter and in his opinion the ball came out while Jones was still in the process of making the catch. It was BS..even Mike Perira disagreed on the broadcast.

No Oher should have stayed in because his penalities were bogus. The false start was a reaction to the defense which had encroached. On the chop block Reid was not engaged at all. The refs were terrible in this game. The crackback call on Smith for hitting the head and neck area? Great call if Rivers's head and neck are in his shoulder. Reed's PF for a defensless receiver was bullshit. The touchdown by Jones should have never been overturned. Eli's incomplete pass was a fumble. Holy hell they sucked. The only good thing they did was catch that Offensive PI call on I think Hixon.

Was that drive where they overcame all those fabricated penalties by Cheffer's crew. Great resilency in the face of adversity they could not control.

Props to Dean Pees. I noticed no Terrence Cody today. Suggs looked stronger. Ellerbe makes a big difference.

Ditto. I don't think they should be satisfied with Flacco - they can still draft a guy to back him up and see how he develops, but you don't just get rid of this guy until you find someone better (and that won't be easy).

I don't see it Cleetz. I know the ultimate goal is the SB but only 1 team can achieve that every year. 5-5 for playoffs, dominating the division, I think Harbaugh is definitely here next year no matter what happens in the postseason. I also think the team would have to turn into a dysfunctional mess similar to the Jets for him to be canned after 2013. I know Harbaugh doesn't have either an offensive or defensive specialty, but I don't think it's crucial to have a guy like that. Honestly, I think it can be detrimental to the team in some cases because the Head coach doesn't spend enough time focused on the team as opposed to one unit. At the very least, it doesn't ensure success. To me Harbaugh is not the issue. It's injuries and personnel. The fact that this team in it's 5th year lost back2back for the first time (and barely) shows that Harbaugh is great at doing his job which is getting the most out of his players.

Whatever do you mean? In all seriousness I live and work in a region that has a serious love affair with guns so I am no stranger to the attitudes of gun advocates. I will say that the gun owners I know are all open to increased controls/background checks, etc, they just still want their guns. I have seen attitudes change and stances soften after Sandy hook. The NRA and their rank and file will probably try to wait this out but I'm very confident something will be done, but whatever it is, the new controls need to have some teeth as opposed to being a token effort.
