tsylvester replied to vmax's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Sos it has been just over an hour since he has had the phone lines open. Did he get 100 calls from telemarketers, from phone banks selling extended warranties, or from the Disabled Insurance group..... did he just go round in circles? -

Kirk Cousins reworked his deal to free up cap space. Yet another major guaranteed contract that had to be reworked for a team. Here is the next big question, If Lamar is signed, a year or two down the road, will he be willing to rework his deal as needed? -

Lamar-"People throw at the wall and hope it stick" Well, when, then man up and speak your mind like an adult, how much did the Ravens offer? It's gonna come out soon, it being the truth about what they offered and you turned down. Don't call people liars unless you can prove it. -

FYI, the Bill's had to restructure both Allen's and Miller's deals to get under the cap and have some left over for free agents. All they, & the Browns are doing is kicking the can down the road in hopes of a much bigger salary cap. Like you, I hope that this soap opera ends soon one way or another -

More on what Lamar turned down last year, from Shefty..https://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2023/3/14/23639469/schefter-lamar-jackson-turned-down-200-million-guaranteed-deal-back-in-september-nfl-qb-news More information surrounding the contract offered to quarterback Lamar Jackson back in September has been reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on The Adam Schefter Podcast. According to reports, Jackson turned down a deal with $200 million in guaranteed money Chris Mortensen and I reported on this last September when Lamar Jackson was offered a deal that he turned down. A deal that included at the time he was offered $133 million due at signing,” Schefter said. “$133 million guaranteed. The contract also had injury guarantees that brought the guarantees to $175 million and it then had a springing guarantee that could’ve brought the value for the contract, the guaranteed money of the contract to $200 million in guarantees... and yes, those were the actual numbers and that was the situation. So those really were the guarantees for Lamar Jackson. -

It has to be two firsts, at the least. Yes, they, the Ravens can work out a sign and trade, for more than 2 1sts, but not less. -

Jimmy G off the board, so are the Raiders as far as Lamar is concerned. 3 years, 67 mil, 34 mil guaranteed -
Cambell released, saves the team $7 mil in cap space. I would be shocked if he were not resigned at a much lower number https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/calais-campbell-released-veteran-ravens-free-agency

Gus's salary per CBS 2023 salary by about $1 million but gives him the opportunity to earn the money back via incentives, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. With his base salary dropping from $4.38 million to less than $3.5 million

Food for thought. Because of the contract Watson got, the Browns were 12 or so mil over the cap. They, he and the team, agreed to a void year added and gave him more bonus money, lowering his cap hit this year, saving them some 20 or so mil in cap space, now they are 34 mil under. Problem, after this year, for the next 3 years, his cap hit will exceed $60 mil 🫨 -

I really hope the Commandos make a run at Lamar. He might be the piece that draws more money for the sale of the team. Ravens might get 2 1st and Sam Howell, who, in my opinion, would be great in Todd's system here, plus cheap, still on his rookie deal. Big, strong, accurate, great pocket presence, and yes, he can run. This would be a win-win for both teams. Take one of the firsts, get the wide out you need. Use the other to get more draft picks or also get Ringo. Man, a guy can dream, right -
Yeah, tells you that neither team was interested in Lamar, a rookie qb was more important, apparently, to the Panthers. That and the rookie deal that will help rebuild the team, though with not much draft picks...

Wow, the Panthers got hosed on that trade with Chicago. I wonder, is the number one pick that expensive, the 9th pick, 2 other first round picks, a 2nd and a player? If so, would the Ravens take the 1st pick in exchange for Lamar? No, right? -
Jeff Z is reporting that the Gus Bus has agreed to rework his deal, supposing that his $5.6 mil cap hit will be lowered. No details as of yet by how much.
