Talk about a guy who played faster than he time- 4.59, quite the "stud" in Buffalo where there were limited targets and average at best quarterbacks.... In SF, he just didn't fit their system and once again, had a quarterback who was subpar, at least last year. It remains to be seen if Cap can take the next step in his career... Here is an article from 12/13- http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10124394/stevie-johnson-buffalo-bills-eager-prove-critics-wrong No doubt he is a hustle guy, always working hard, the question has always been consistancy with his hands and in route running. He tends to drift, ala T Smith and round off his routes..... I am not sure he would do anything for this team beyond what they already have. Me, I would rather draft a rookie for a deep threat.
-
I am sure it has incentives to escalate if he reaches them. I can't see there being a large bonus, just enough to convince to stay, but give the team an "out" should it not work out.
-
It is also ladden with incentives, as is the Mathews contract. If they both hit those the Eagles will be dead men walking as far as the cap goes...
-
I figure it is basically a no lose situation for the Ravens at this price. If he produces great, if not, they lose very little on the cap, comparatively speaking.
-
In the news feed, 3 years, 9 mil, no word, yet, of how it breaks down.... per the Sun via ESPN.
-
Per ESPN, five years, $42 mil, I am shocked at two things. 1) Dallas letting him walk for that "little" and 2) The Eagles letting McCoy go and then signing Murray for about the same amount. Is Chip changing his offense? Sproles, Mathews and Murray are they all equal to McCoy & Sproles?
-
Looks like Forsett will be a Raven again, 3 mil per year, not bad, hope he is not a one hit wonder....
-
They let Wayne walk and bring in some one similar and just as old. Granted Wayne has injuries, but so too does Johnson.... The Colts are all about making a splash.
-
Ozzie and his staff is great, fantastic at finding cheap labor and getting the best out of those players. all except, insert broken record, the receiver position.... The Lions, on the other hand, always seem to have a decent crop, get the most out of the cheap labor there, mostly because of their quarterback and a hall of fame reciever taking the attention. Yep, I'll take the Ravens staff including BIscutt, over what Detroit faces, play contenders more than not, two super bowls in 10 years or so....

$125 million in gaurenteed money, counting this wind fall, as an NFL corner. Wow, well done sir, well done.
-
He is a colt, per espn
-
With the influx of athletes going into sports announcing, radio & tv shows, I can see this happening more & more with all the football shows out there now.
-
Wow, another young player calling ti quits... http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/jason-worilds-shocks-everyone-by-retiring/ar-AA9CR7a?ocid=U142DHP
-
That retirement was a surprise, as was Worild's and Willis'. I just don't any team that would be interested in Bradford & his salary.
-
And a one year wonder. This league is filled with one year wonders; Brian Mitchel, Ickey Woods to name just two....
-
I doubt Ozzie does something outlandish, but I wouldn't mind Harvin at all, I know, head case.... But he would be the first real deep threat this team has had since 1996. With that said, were it me, I sign the free agents the team has, fill in with cheap and drafted players. They have to find out about the other young receivers and the only way to do that is playing time. Save as much as possible to carry over for next year when they are really gonna need the room because of Joe's cntract and there likely will be some one worthy of a marque salary on the free agent market,.
-
Don't know about that, they still have to pay Wilson, and they bucked the trend by not only making the playoffs last season, but making it to the dance. They should be interesting...
-
right now it makes no sense. Bradford can't stay healthy, can't run, but he is more accurate than Foles, when he gets time. Like Frank Gore, Chip's moves are head scratchers....
-
Not a ton, but plenty for certain to get done what they need to get done.
-
Nope, he may be faster but Crab is a better route runner and more consistant with his hands, not that -that is saying much,
-
Yes, great amo so long as they stay away from the 2nd round; their history there is dismal.....
-
So now they should be some where close to $14-16 mil under with all their free agents to sign. Plenty of money to either carry over or use on fill in talent.
-
They will use him just as they used Crabtree, and they play Seattle & the Rams twice each year. Even with all Seatle lost on defense, they can still cover him easily. So that is four games per year he will likely be shut out....
-
They will come to regret it. I ould be surprised if they release him shortly after year two. Can't wait to see how they structured it..
-
They like the one they have and there are a few good ones coming out. No worries on that front, the question is, what do they do about a deep threat, a legit one...
