Not according to Ozzie.........
-
It is the only move he really has and the only one, free agent wise, that makes sense for the Ravens when you consider salary cap and talent. They can't afford a Maclin, Harvin has trouble playing with others and he may not be released. Even if he is, his asking price will be high.Cobb would be great, but again, they can't afford his asking price. Johnson is really not an answer given his age & injury history. Either way, the draft is deep, I don't think even the Ravens could screw up most of the receivers in the draft.... Thus, take Smith back at your price.
-
I would be royally shocked if he ended up here. There is just no logical way you go into the season with two receivers over the age of 35, one who has had a recent history of injuries, especially when they play the same position; slot. With so many liely YOUNG receivers who will go on the market, and in the draft, pass....
-
The issue is how the Ravens handled it. He was not released, in reality, because of what he did, he was released because it was caught on tape....
-
Why? If they did that, they would have to adjust the cap for every team, for every player released because of leagal issues. In other words, it won't happen.
-
Some interesting moves yesterday that will put more receivers on the market, one more likely coming in the Andre Johnson trade/release by next week. Each receiver is a better option for teams than Smith, it should make his market money lower.

He has been cut.........

Officially $143.8 million, or $10 million more than last year. Per CBS News, every team, but the Rams, have carried over cap space from last year, Jags lead the list bringing over $22 mil from last year. The Ravens have an adjusted cap #, of.... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/02/team-by-team-adjusted-cap-numbers/ So they have some wiggle room...

Mel has had a love affair with Funchess for a couple of years now. Between his measurable and his name, Mel was melmerized and is sticking to his potential to be a good wide out/tight end. Theoretically he is a match-up nightmare no matter where he plays. But those hands, ala Clarance Moore will leave many a qb's from trusting him.
-
He was suppose to be a practice squad player, I suspect after the vitrol the front office spewed, he will now be a former Ravens player.
-
Funches, while their measurables are close, is nothing like Benjamin. Funches is closer to crav's hall of blamer, Devard Darling; poor routes, slow getting into & out of, poor blocking, oh yeah and suspect hands.
-
Were I the Ravens front office, yep, that would drive the price for Smith down, in his mind though, who knows. If the reports are true about the offer he turned down, no, he likely feels he is a better option than anyone on or who will be on the market...
-
Smith and Wallace are the same receiver for the most part. Neither has consistant hands, nor fights for the ball. Their route running is terrible and are truly only good for going deep. So yes, their salaries are likely to be the same if he gets released.
-
Now Hardy, who was found not guilty by way of paying his victim off to run & hide, is seeking to be reinstated immediately as a result of the judges ruling..... Another chip out of the leg for Goody...
-
I am not familiar with either of them, however, this gives me great pause on Peters- While his positives are very good & maybe getting drafted low or not at all would help him "mature", I don't think he is what the Ravens would be looking for on this team, attitude wise. Now, Dupre sounds a lot like McPhee when he first came out, nice pick up. He would make a nice replacement, getting needed expereince on the becn & practice squad, moving slowly into the line up ala McPhee...

Not a chane the Ravens take him given what his past is like and what he did or failed to do at the combine. Let some one else take the chance he is a hall of fame player or a bust.
-
Per ESPN, a federal judge has over turned his suspension and sent the case back to the arbiter. Another chop to the legs of the chair Goody is standing on. Now, will Goody keep this going or just give in an reinstate AP?
-
Yes thanks for sure. His kick off average, as are the entire league's, are a bit off now that they count the depth in the end zone. His mistakes in judgment when to come out & when to down the ball hurt the team this year and he never learned how to run a route.
-
I'm not as sold on Devin Smith as McShake is, his route running leaves a lot to be desired and he tends to catch more with the body than the hands, rarely making any contested catches. Britt is interesting, but can he be consistant, is my question.
-
I'll never for get him and Kelly Gregg stealing a golf cart and driving around practice to end training camp.... A good guy, solid player.
-
I agree. I am certain the Ravens will only take him back at their number, which no doubt is less than they offered last summer. So he is likely to get a better offer some where else like the Raiders, Browns, some place he can make some oney but win very few games.

Again, suicide is no joke, maybe once it stops being funny to say, the number of real people on the ledge will go down. Any thoughts on what was said or do you just want to suckle some more>?
