  1. http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2016/03/little-marco-rubio-senate-plans I think you're underestimating how much these guys can make as "consultants" or law firm partners. He was already making $300K prior to public office. He's already written two books and made over $1M. Not that hard to think someone will pay him to write a couple more.
  2. Same with Rubio, he will go from "poor" to rich in a year after leaving the Senate (a job he has said he hates btw). And Rubio didn't even make it to the White House! Probably for the better if he hated the Senate he'd sure to hate the White House. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/06/10/us/politics/marco-rubio-finances-debt-loans-credit.html?referer=&_r=0
  3. Right, what I was implying is irrelevant of those factors you mention we all know residential streets that are rarely traveled upon. Sometimes, unfortunately, we might not come to a complete stop at stop signs on these streets, or not be as focused on the road as we normally might be. More than half of car crashes occur within five miles of home. Regardless of who's fault it was, possibly this was an instance of one or both parties not expecting anyone else to be on that particular road. Tragic reminder that we all need to stay cautious no matter what road we are on, even if it is a very familiar one close to home.
  4. Absolutely devastating. Looked like a residential street, not busy at all. Could have happened to anyone. Very sad.
  5. Broncos signed Russell Okung to a long-term deal. Do we try and trade for Ryan Clady?
  6. I consider myself a moderate Republican. I would never vote for Trump or Cruz, but I would never vote for Hillary either. I'll go with what papa is saying, a Hillary/Trump election will be one of the lowest turnouts in recent history.
  7. Both Rickards and Christian Walker (who now plays LF) have had great springs hitting the ball. And Rickards defense has been excellent. Reports say Trumbo has been pretty good in RF. It doesn't look pretty but he's making the plays he's supposed to. We have options in the outfield if a guy doesn't work out.
  8. You misunderstood. I clearly said the contract isn't hampering us. If Ozzie sees a guy he wants he can make a move. If he needs to, we have guys on the books we can release to create more cap room. This is a weak free agent market.
  9. Could be right. I don't see anything else out there on the market, but drafting a player like Corey Coleman in the second round might have been a good alternative. Although now we get to use that high pick for somewhere else. If Wallace ends up like Lee Evans certainly we'll look back at this as a poor move. But if he gives us Torrey production, it will be worth it. The risk with Wallace is low given we didn't give up anything for him and his contract is not preventing us from making other moves.
  10. Fair point, but on a one-year, $5.75M deal for a 29-year old receiver as talented as Wallace one year off of a 10 TD year, not much risk. Certainly much better than Torrey's contract. And look at Torrey's stats last year. These speed receivers are dependent upon the system and QB they work with. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/03/17/mike-wallace-i-wasnt-being-critical-of-teddy-bridgewater/ Wallace clarifies
  11. His numbers weren't bad for Miami. Had 10 TDs in 2014. If he can replace Torrey's value in getting pass interference penalties, I'll take it!
  12. For the record, I think Wallace's comment was harmless. He didn't mean to put down Bridgewater, he simply didn't communicate clearly what he meant. Happens to us all.
  13. Max, here is a great article that talks about Wallace's work ethic and leadership. Coaches loved him and he didn't complain one peep. http://espn.go.com/blog/minnesota-vikings/post/_/id/18311/mike-wallaces-frustrations-went-beyond-teddy-bridgewater-in-minnesota Wallace could have visited other teams, but he signed with us because he realizes he needs the right fit for his skill set.

  15. https://twitter.com/pff_gordon/status/710182631703519233 What's interesting about that stat is our secondary played better the second half of the year. My thought is the Ravens want two pure cover guys (Weddle and Webb) at safety, and feel the front seven is good enough to stop the run on its own. I always liked Hill but something happened in the second half of last season that put him in the dog house.
  16. I'm going to say no. As I'm sure you're aware, similar problems to Torrey in regards to catch radius and average sized hands. However, I think Wallace adds better YAC ability than Torrey. And if he can consistently get PI penalties downfield, he will be well worth his pay. Just don't have him in the game on run downs, he's very poor blocker. I love the move. Doesn't take away a comp pick either.
  17. I usually don't like reading Hensley but this is a good point: Even in Miami, while Tannehill has a strong arm, the Dolphins rarely took shots downfield.
  18. I feel even better about this signing... I had forgotten about Schaub in the compensation calculation! The Falcons signed Schaub, so as long as Upshaw signs somewhere else (Colts are likely), then the third round pick from KO is back in play!
  19. PFF likes the pairing of Weddle and Hill: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2016/03/14/pro-eric-weddle-will-hill-form-one-of-leagues-top-safety-tandems/
  20. Worried about the age and giving up the comp pick, however, it we are to sign someone who's 31 best be a safety who has had outstanding metrics: https://twitter.com/pff/status/709434946604167170 I hope we can sign Wallace, then load up on linebackers and corners in the draft.
  21. Lol I don't think I've ever seen you drop an F bomb before
  22. Letting off a week's worth of built-up frustration?
  23. We are Wallace's first FA visit. I wonder if we will try to make sure he doesn't leave without a contract.
