  1. Oh damn! I forgot about that! Makes sense now!
  2. Was at the game today: Manny is on fire. He smoked each one of his hits today. Also, the kids has filled out. He is enormous, huge lower body. With his swing, that is going to equate to monster power. Hasn't lost a step on defense either. Made a slow roller to throw out Longoria look easy. Hardy also made a strong throw from deep in the hole. Trumbo looks good in RF. Much more athletic than people give him credit for. Misplayed a ball off the wall, but made a few tough plays in the game. He's very comfortable at the plate too. Beating the shift, working counts, putting the ball into play. The home runs will come. Alvarez looked like he was going to die as he rounded third scoring from first. He got a good jump and it looked like he'd score easily, but he ran out of gas and made it close. He's a little heavy looking to me, but still made the play with a smart slide! No walks today for the lineup, but the team is certainly working the count. Lots of three ball counts. Lineup has solid synergy.
  3. I didn't even pick up on anyone dying. I guess once the show brought characters back to life, I didn't think to expect it. Definitely caught me off guard! And since that life pool is gone, its permanent! The LoT episode where they went into the future to Star City and saw Oliver was awesome. Got to see Diggie's son as the new Arrow. So much potential with that show.
  4. Wow the last episode of Arrow. Didn't see that coming! Flash last week was great as well. Really cool how he went back in time again. Still need to catch up on LoT.
  5. Lineup came alive! We've had Archer's number the past couple of years. Good to see Tillman continue his success.
  6. Good write-up: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2016/04/05/draft-myles-jack-isnt-a-perfect-nfl-prospect-but-hes-pretty-close/
  7. O's comeback! Ubaldo picks up the win! Great to see Bundy pitching. He's no longer pitching in the upper 90s, but his fast ball was at 93, and his off speed stuff was at 83. That's plenty to work with if he can hit his spots. Rickards continues to hit. First career HR. O'Day ends the game with three K's in the ninth.
  8. Say Ramsey drops to pick four, I wonder if we would consider swapping with the Cowboys to jump the Jags to take Ramsey?
  9. Ubaldo really toughed it out tonight. He let up a lot of hits and got a tough break with the Crush error. But when it was said and done he pitched seven innings, had nine strike outs and surrendered only one earned run. Good work! Man on first and third no outs going into the rain delay in the bottom of the third. Hopefully we can get Ubaldo the win.
  10. Good read. I think there's a real good chance it happens. Cowboys seem interested in Bosa. If the Browns go QB, and the Cowboys get Bosa, we likely end up with Jack or Buckner.
  11. Another six walks for the lineup today! Pedro Alvarez has three for the season. I think he's already matched his total from last year
  12. I also wonder where Keyarris Garrett (Tulsa) or Mike Thomas (Southern Miss) will go.
  13. http://russellstreetreport.com/2016/04/05/ravens-links/darron-lee-better-than-myles-jack/ RSR on Lee vs. Jack
  14. Speaking of the cutter, on the radio broadcast last night they mentioned Tillman was throwing a nasty one. Maybe someone who watched the TV broadcast could shed some light.
  15. Anyone following the situation in Iceland? Talk about political participation rate!
  16. That article was a tough one to read, barely got through it. Arrieta could have easily trashed our organization, but was gracious and spoke highly of his time here. The worst part was how Adair wouldn't let him use his cutter two years after a bone spur surgery. The excuse made no sense to Arrieta. The blurb about Gausman is frightening as well. Why can't we fire every pitching coach in our organization and hire guys from Tampa, San Francisco or St. Louis?
  17. O's win! Lineup had ten strike outs, but five walks including Crush's two out walk in the bottom of the ninth. Trumbo is the player of the game with four singles (and no errors in RF!)
  18. Good stuff, DC. Whereas I am a Ravens pessimist I have long been an O's optimist. Rebound years from JJ and Wieters being 100% healthy. Manny is able to do more damage from the three hole. Schoop is going to hit 30 home runs. Trumbo and Alvarez each hit 30 HRs in Camden. Bullpen will be better this season with Givens.
  19. Wow that is devastating. Very well written piece.
  20. I think the problem here is there is no room in the lineup for Kim to get EXP through ABs. Rickards without a doubt won the starting job, is a much better fit for our lineup (speedy lead off hitter), and plays better defense than Kim. Sure, we could stash Kim as the 25th man and he could possibly get into the lineup against LHP (Alvarez can't hit lefties). But it seems the O's are trying to convince Kim it's in his best interest to get the ABs. I don't think we'll release him. There is no guarantee Rickards will work out, or we could have injuries. If/when this happens, it would be nice if Kim had a streak of ABs in Norfolk. The other thing about Kim: he showed up this winter out of shape and overweight. Brady had to whip him into shape in a short period of time before spring training. The transition to playing baseball in the US was going to be hard enough on its own, not being in shape makes things that much more difficult.
  21. Wow. After Shaq Thompson (and Thomas Davis years before) it seemed the trend was SS-to-LB. That would be a bold move for the Chargers. The way things are playing out looks like the Ravens will get one of Bosa, Buckner or Jack. I like Jack a lot as well. He would be hard to pass.
  22. Ts, how does Lee compare to Jack? To me, it seems like both guys are Will's in our defense. I think we both agree that Mosley struggles as a Mike because of his unwillingness to take on blockers. Do you think Lee would be a better pair for Mosley than Jack?
  23. I was unaware of the changing state of residence, but it makes sense now that you mention it. I also didn't know the waiting period was only a year to gain instate tuition. I am also curious of the data on this. As far as the mayoral election: my wife has sat in on presentations from most, if not all of the candidates. She said Elizabeth Embry was hands down the most impressive, considering who had the most detailed and realistic platforms. Embry did not dance around questions like most of the candidates did. My wife came away believing Embry's law background and no nonsense pragmatic disposition is very well suited for the position. Of course as you point out, the most qualified candidate almost never wins.
  24. I was going to say: that's the joke with Towson is that it's funded by all the NJ/NY out of staters. DC provided a much more intelligent response haha. Anyone following the Baltimore mayoral Democratic primary?
  25. Honestly, I can't stand him. I like LaCanfora a lot though, and Josh Charles is a fun guest.
