  1. I completely agree. Everyone keeps saying Parker is "peeking at the right time", but we have always had great success against Willie. Bring Wee Willie on!
  2. Cory Ivy? I would not be very scared of him if I were the Steelers.
  3. I agree with that. If we play smart, Ben will eventually do something dumb to turn the ball over, he always does. We just have to take advantage of such an opportunity by converting those turnovers into 7's instead of 3-and-outs.
  4. First, we would run all over Arizona. Second, Arizona is at a disadvantage because you know they do not run the ball. We would blitz from the beginning, and Warner is a stone in the pocket. When Warner does not get protection, that offense falls apart very quickly. Honestly, it would be no different than playing an offense like Dallas.
  5. Maclin would actually be my first choice, possibly over even over Crabtree. Maclin is much more polished as a receiver than Harvin or DHB. Harvin and DHB are a little raw at the receiver position. Harvin played more of the Peter Warrick role in the Florida offense taking a lot of snaps, handoffs, and reverses. DHB is a true deep threat, but UMD never had the QB to throw to him. Flacco would have a field day with DHB at WR.
  6. Our problem against the Steelers has always been converting redzone opportunities into touchdowns. With the Steelers, fieldgoals will not suffice. You have to get touchdowns when given the opportunity. We cannot afford to let the Steelers hang around when we have a chance to put them away. Also, we cannot give the Steelers easy defensive points. If we do these two things, I believe we will win.
  7. I was disgraced by that Sports Center special as well. Hoge is a former Steeler I believe, so I expect it out of him. Clayton just talks out of his ass half the time.
  8. Crav, where are you going to smack talk to the Steelers this week?
  9. Holy crap! I didn't know that Ayanbadejo was apart of that 2001 Super Bowl team (was he on the practice squad?). How cool is that?
  10. Preston wrote an article about this in the Sun. We have always had an heir to the defensive coordinator job. I remember Rex kept trying to leave to be a DC elsewhere when Nolan was the guy, but we would not let him because we knew Rex would eventually become the guy. Who is in the wings now? There is Vic Fangio, But Preston says the players think he is too "stiff". Mike Nolan would be great, but I have heard he is close to joining Denver. Maybe Nolan waits so he can return? Here is Preston's article on the situation: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...,4203614.column Here is a great point, which makes me a little less worried:
  11. You darn right it is. In my opinion, this is the Super Bowl. The winner should not have any problem beating the Eagles/Cards, and I think the players see it the exact same way. We might not have an opportunity like this to win the big one for a long time, rookie QB or not. Lets take it now!
  12. Great video! I wish I was there. Here is another video of welcoming the Ravens to BWI. Funny, Steelers fans were making fun of us for this video saying we do not know how to win and are getting are hopes up.
  13. It might be close in straight-line speed, but Leonhard is definitely the better all around athlete. Leonhard is much like Ed Reed in the way he moves. He is very agile, accelerates quickly, and moves very fluently. He has that effortless looking run like Ed does.
  14. Rex Ryan is apparently the frontrunner for the Jets job. He met with Jets owner Woody Johnson and GM Mike Tannenbaum in Baltimore for five hours yesterday morning.
  15. LOL. I do like your idea with the MLB. Even if we do only re-sign Ray, we will still have to replace him in a couple of seasons, so just Gooden will not do it. Man, Laurinaitis really made a mistake by not declaring for the draft last season, he would have been a top 10 pick. I really like DHB, so it would be a tough decision. I think I would take Laurinaitis over Harvin though. As for Gooden's injury, I think I remember in one of Preston's blog that Gooden should be fine and recovered for minicamps.
  16. Jim Caldwell is taking over as the head coach (many teams interviewed him last offseason, but he stayed because the Colts gave him the future job). He has been Dungy's heir for a longtime now. Dungy is a sure-fire Hall of Famer. He went 92-33 and made the playoffs all seven seasons in his time with the Colts. The Super Bowl win definitely capped off a Hall of Fame career.
  17. Just heard an interview with Cam Cameron on The Sirius Blitz with Adam Schein and Marty Schottenheimer. On the development of Flacco, Cam gave big props to Hugh Jackson. Cam joked and said all he does is make sure he "doesn't screw anything up" that Hugh teaches Flacco. Interesting note, Hugh Jackson made the call on the nine route to Clayton on the third down to set up the game-winning field goal for Stover. Hugh told Cam he was confident that we were going to see man coverage on the outside, and thought Flacco and Clayton could make the play to give Matt an easier field goal. Everyone agreed that Hugh has a bright future as a coach, and how fortunate we are to have him on our staff this season. Marty asked Cam to compare Flacco to a QB. Cam laughed and said Marty taught him never to make comparisons. Anyways, Cam said Flacco has a Gus Frerotte-like arm, an Elvis Grbac body-type, and a poise that he has never seen before for such a young player. Cam stated that Flacco had a rep of being unmotivated because of his calm demeanor. However, he said Flacco is an incredible competitor with a burning fire. Ultimately, Cam said Flacco is just scratching the surface of his potential. Offensive gameplan this week is to run the ball, protect Flacco, take care of the football, and eliminate the pre-snap penalties. Cam says if we can keep Joe standing, he likes our chances. He said the offensive line is going to have their hands full this week with Pittsburgh's pass rush. Cam gave big praise to Derrick Mason. Said he has never been around a professional like Derrick Mason. Cam made the point that Derrick is rubbing off on Clayton. On the play-clock fiasco Cam said that has happened against us multiple times this season, so we finally got one back. Nevertheless, what is done is done, and we won.
  18. We play the Steelers on Sunday, right? No, just kidding, good discussion! Landry is cheap and going into the last year of a rookie deal, he is coming back. Leonard is going to be a free agent. After his big game yesterday, he is definitely going to garner some attention going into free agency. I would love to see Leonard come back, but with the free agents we already have, some team is sure to give Jim an offer that I believe will be out of our budget. We did not draft two safeties this past offseason for nothing. Although, I do question Landry's mental state after such an injury. Some players can return after such an injury, others are hesitant the rest of their career.
  19. I was thinking the exact same thing. We have had a long season, will it catch up to us this week? The guys will be ready, no doubt. That bye week before we play in the Super Bowl will help out greatly!
  20. It did sound loud on Saturday. However, like Spen said, it sounded loud when both teams had the ball. I heard a lot of Heap chants on that fourth quarter chant. I wonder how many Ravens fans were there.
  21. They have some pretty bitter fans on that site. Completely irrational to talk to.
  22. The Broncos also hired Nolan as their DC. I like McDaniel as the head coach, he should have a field day with Cutler, Marshall, and Royal. Nolan is a solid leader, and should be able to handle the defense. It will not matter if the Broncos cannot get more playmakers on defense though.
  23. I actually just got into the show watching the episodes from the beginning. I love the show so far. I never watched the show because I thought Dr. House sounded annoying on the commercials. However once I started watching, he is such a clever character. Such a great show!
  24. Now John Clayton just reported that Rolle's groin injury is minor. I guess we will have to see.
  25. That is how I see it. Mason had similar speed to Clayton when he was younger. Mason still has it every once and awhile as he manages to slip past the secondary every once and awhile. I feel that Clayton is on a career path to becoming Derrick's heir. That is great for us granted we are able to get a bigger deep threat to play across from Mark. Get Flacco a deep threat like DHB and he will have a great pair of receivers to throw to for the next decade.
